2023’s Critics Choice Awards saw Amanda Seyfried narrowly avoiding an embarrassing wardrobe mishap, thanks to Glen Powell’s quick thinking and timely intervention.
At the 2023 Critics Choice Awards, my dress unexpectedly revealed more than intended. The gown was a stunning vintage piece that I had some fun trying on my stylist before wearing it myself. Unfortunately, due to some loose stitching, the dress began to unravel and eventually came apart while I was walking the red carpet. In fact, during interviews following the incident, I mentioned that the dress was falling apart.
During the show, Seyfried found herself engaged in a private conversation with Powell. However, it was at this moment that calamity occurred.
In a corner close to my table, I was having a light-hearted conversation with Glen Powell. We shared a laugh about something, and in the midst of it, I unintentionally raised my arms, causing my dress to become disheveled. It ultimately came apart, exposing me momentarily,” Seyfried explained. “Both of us were startled, and given his gentlemanly nature, Glen quickly shielded me. I’m not sure if he actually looked, but it seemed as though none of us anticipated such an incident. That dress simply couldn’t handle the strain any longer.
In an awkward turn of events, Seyfried emerged victorious at the 2023 Critics Choice Awards. She claimed the award for best actress in a limited series or TV movie for her performance in “The Dropout.” Unfortunately, Powell wasn’t nominated this time around. However, he was there to cheer on the success of “Top Gun: Maverick,” which had been nominated in six categories but didn’t take home any trophies at the event.
