All you need to know about Boss Rematch in Lies of P

As a gamer, I’ve noticed that unexpected releases have become quite the norm these days. A prime example is Oblivion Remastered, which dropped on the exact same day as its official announcement. Last week, something similar happened during Summer Game Fest 2025. To my surprise, Lies of P: Overture was unveiled out of the blue! This new DLC takes you to a bygone era of the city of Krat, where you can lend a hand to characters like Rosaura. But that’s not all the developers had in store – even for those who didn’t grab this expansion. Alongside the DLC launch, an update to the base game was also rolled out. This patch brought a Boss Rematch feature into the game. However, it’s quite well-hidden, so keep your eyes peeled to avoid missing it!

How to unlock Boss Rematch in Lies of P

In the final stages of the game, you’ll encounter a special mode called “Boss Rematch.” Unlike starting New Game Plus, you can access this mode without needing to start over. After finishing the main story, you’ll be given two options: return to the Hotel or embark on New Game Plus. If you’re not ready for another round straight away, just choose to return to the Hotel. Once there, engage with Stargazer to unlock this new mode; the option will become available.

What exactly does Boss Rematch provide? It offers the opportunity to engage in battles with bosses in two distinct gameplay styles.

  1. Battle Memories – you can fight with previously defeated bosses on 5 different difficulty options.
  2. Death March – you can freely combine the configuration of the bosses you will face (a minimum of 3). Additionally, you have limited HP and resources. This mode has 3 different difficulty options.

In other words, this mode increases the difficulty level of your gameplay experience, but that’s not all – by participating in this mode, you’ll also be able to collect minor decorative items (stickers for your inventory bag).

It’s uncertain at present which factors influence the setting of the difficulty levels within this game mode. Nonetheless, the gaming community speculates that it aligns with the Legendary Stalker difficulty level (not NG+), because this difficulty level is inherent to the settings of this particular mode itself.
