Pre-Hardmode Bosses
King Slime (Optional)
A wobbly, large creature adorned with a crown and an affinity for instant travel, King Slime is typically your initial challenge when it comes to boss battles and managing crowds. Despite its massive size, this boss is exceptionally agile, frequently darting towards players who try to escape by teleporting to bridge the distance. As you inflict more damage upon it, King Slime gradually shrinks until it resembles the common slimes that bother you during your normal gameplay.
Summoning
Item: Use a Slime Crown or
Consider waiting for a Slime Rain event, or alternatively, explore the greener regions along the map’s edge where random encounters may occur.
Health: 2,000 on Classic / 2,800 on Expert / 3,570 on Master.
Damage: 40 on Classic / 64 on Expert / 96 on Master.
Approach: Maintain a safe distance and remain agile. Long-range and magical weapons are particularly effective initially. You can exploit King Slime’s transportation feature by moving off-screen and confining it in corners. As you progress through the game and gain more gear, you can devise traps like lava pits using a lava bucket, or follow Obi-Wan’s example by utilizing Rocket Boots or Wings to get an upper hand on your adversary. When confronting King Slime with a team, ensure that everyone stays spread out to prevent him from teleporting directly onto your group.
Rewards: Slime Gun, Slime Hook, Ninja armour pieces, Solidifier, Slimy Saddle mount, Mask, Trophy
Aftermath: Nothing special happens after defeating King Slime, as it’s an optional boss.
Eye of Cthulhu
In Terraria, the terrifying entity known as Eye of Cthulhu is your nightmare at night. If you hear ominous roars, brace yourself for a frightening encounter. This aerial menace initially uses slow, circular attacks that seem to bypass blocks effortlessly, and even summons minions from the realm of Cthulhu. When reduced to about half its health (or less than 65% in Expert+ mode), Eye of Cthulhu undergoes a transformation into a tooth-filled terror, becoming more aggressive and switching to chaotic charges. At this stage, it’s vulnerable but deals increased damage, opting for direct confrontation instead of relying on numbers.
Summoning
Item: Use a Suspicious Looking Eye at night.
World: One in three chance of spawning at night once you have three NPCs in housing.
Health: 2,800 on Classic / 3,640 on Expert / 4,641 on Master
Damage: 15 on Classic / 30 on Expert / 45 on Master
Strategy: It’s wise to prepare in advance by establishing an arena and ensuring there’s ample lighting. Similar to other nighttime boss battles, initiating the fight as soon as it’s dark will give you more time to complete the task before Eye of Cthulhu vanishes. Avoid its charging attacks and gradually weaken it using bows or wands. The second phase is faster-paced, so have your dodge or grapple moves ready. Accessories that enhance movement speed, such as Hermes Boots, can make a significant difference in this battle.
Rewards: Demonite/Crimtane Ore, Unholy Arrows, Mask, Trophy, Binoculars.
Following the Victory: Overcoming Eye of Cthulhu paves the way for Dryad to advance, and it provides an opportunity for the Wandering Merchant to offer a toy named Code 1 for a price of five gold coins.
Eater of Worlds (Corruption only)
A wriggling creature that digs through your terrors and your stronghold is known as the Eater of Worlds. The battle against it is a test of stamina and mastery, as making the wrong move can divide the boss into numerous dangerous parts if you’re not cautious. This creature will only appear in worlds infected with Corruption, one of two malevolent biomes, the other being Crimson. Importantly, these two cannot coexist, so your encounter with this burrowing monster is a 50/50 chance.
The Eater of Worlds is a wriggling creature that can be found in your nightmares and stronghold. Beating it requires endurance and control, as making the wrong move can cause it to split into many dangerous parts. It only appears in worlds with Corruption, one of two evil biomes, and you have a 50/50 chance of encountering it since Crimson and Corruption cannot coexist.
Summoning:
Item: Use Worm Food in a Corruption biome.
World: Destroy 3 Shadow Orbs in a Corruption biome.
Health: 7,500 on Legacy builds / 10,050 on Classic / 15,120 on Expert / 19,224 on Master
Approach: Arm yourself with sharp or wide-area weapons such as Vilethorn or grenades to inflict substantial damage on the entire worm. Lure Eater of Worlds into an open arena constructed above the ground for better mobility. Focus on attacking its body parts, specifically the head or tail, to delay the splitting process. Destroying the central section will cause it to divide into two separate creatures that’ll attack independently. Working together with other players allows you to destroy different segments at a faster pace, but be careful not to overburden your allies.
Rewards: Shadow Scales, Demonite Ore, Eater’s Bone, Mask, Trophy
Following the game, Eater of Worlds serves as a crucial resource for your advancement, yet it’s plausible that you could collect sufficient Demonite from various locations in the game world, eliminating the need to confront it directly for the subsequent stages.
Brain of Cthulhu (Crimson only)
In a simpler, more conversational style: Brain of Cthulhu, a slippery, tricky relative to the Eater of Worlds, often relies on illusions and distractions during combat. The battle starts with a flurry of Creepers that need to be dealt with before the main fight begins. Players should be careful as Brain’s teleporting and duplicating abilities in phase two can catch them off guard. Similar to its counterpart, this cunning adversary will only show up in the Crimson biome, which won’t appear if Corruption is already present.
Summoning:
Item: Use a Bloody Spine in the Crimson.
World: Break 3 Crimson Hearts in the Crimson.
Health: 1,250 on Classic / 2,125 on Expert / 2,709 on Master – x2.6 with Creepers
Damage: 14 on Classic / 54 on Expert / 81 on Master
Approach: In the initial stage of this conflict, hordes of Creepers will be unleashed at you. It’s crucial to eliminate them before engaging with the Brain directly. Area of Effect (AoE) abilities are beneficial in this scenario as they swiftly clear out waves. Additionally, the fallen Creepers will drop hearts to maintain your health level. In the second phase, quick dashing and illusions make it a fight that primarily requires evasion. To prevent the demon from disappearing, keep the battlefield confined within the Crimson biome, ensuring all pre-constructed arenas stay within the red perimeter. The background can serve as a useful guide for this.
Prizes: The Brain of Cthulhu Artifact, Pickled Brain in a Jar, Sack containing either Tissue Remnants, Confused Brain, Mask, Trophy, Crimtane Ore, or Bone Rattle as a Pet.
Following the event: The Brain of Cthulhu supplies a substantial amount of necessary resources for advancement, yet it’s possible to continue mining Crimtane Ore across the globe without engaging in combat.
Queen Bee
Frequently encountered unintentionally while traversing the Jungle, Queen Bee exhibits both poise and aggression. She swiftly moves about the screen, discharging stingers and conjuring swarms of bees to overpower the player. Despite her delicate appearance, she serves as a formidable guardian for Jungle treasures and pre-Hardmode equipment late in the game. This creature not only presents a challenging fight but also evokes a sense of guilt, as it seems to be merely defending its larvae and home from perceived intruders. Oh dear.
Summoning:
Item: Use Abeemination in the Jungle.
World: Destroy a Larva in a Hive, found in the Jungle.
Health: 3,400 on Classic / 4,760 on Expert / 6,069 on Master
Damage: 30 on Classic / 54 on Expert / 81 on Master
Approach: Lure the Queen Bee far from her hive by using your bait wisely. Construct a lengthy platform to clear her aggressive dives, and arm yourself with ranged weapons to mimic the dance of a butterfly and deliver punishing blows like a bee. Additionally, it’s wise to have some health potions on hand as both her stings and physical contact can poison you, causing 2 points of damage per second for 2-20 seconds.
As a devoted bee enthusiast, here’s my take on the rewards you might encounter:
1. My Favorite Tool – The Bee Keeper Sword: A sturdy companion for any beekeeper, perfect for managing those buzzing buddies!
2. The Buzzing Blaster – The Bee Gun: When you need a little extra help dealing with those pesky bees.
3. The Graceful Archer – The Bee’s Knees Bow: Show off your accuracy and precision, just like a skilled apiarist!
4. My Trusty Staff – The Hive Wand: A reliable tool for checking the health of my hives.
5. Dressed to Impress – Various parts of the Bee Outfit: Protect yourself while looking the part as a dedicated beekeeper!
6. Armor of Gold – Bee Wax: Coat your armor with this natural substance for added protection from stings and other hazards.
7. Sweet Treasure – Honey Comb: The sweet reward for all my hard work, just like finding a hidden treasure!
8. Liquid Gold – Bottled Honey: A tasty treat to enjoy after a long day in the hive.
9. Protective Eyes – Honeyed Goggles (mount): Keep my peepers safe from those pesky bees while still enjoying their sweet work.
10. Trophy of Victory – Trophy: A token of my success and dedication to the art of beekeeping.
11. Mask of the Master Beekeeper – The Mask: Protect myself from any unwanted stings, embodying the spirit of a true master apiarist!
Aftermath: Allows Witch Doctor to move into a vacant room.
Skeletron
In daytime, an elderly man appears harmless; at night, he transforms into a terrifying, floating skull and limbs known as Skeletron. This formidable boss has a dual-hitbox: first, you must dodge the flailing arms before focusing on the head for damage. His spinning attack is dangerous, so be prepared to dodge effectively. Additionally, you’ll have to complete this battle before sunrise, or risk being instantly killed by the undead force that will sweep you away with a single strike.
Summoning:
Item: Defeat the Clothier with the Clothier Voodoo Doll equipped at night.
World: Talk to the Old Man at the Dungeon entrance at night.
On the Health aspect, you have:
– 4,400 points in Classic mode (1,200 points per hand)
– 8,800 points in Expert mode (1,560 points per hand)
– 11,220 points in Master mode (1,989 points per hand)
Damage: 32 (20 per hand) on Classic / 70 (44 per hand) on Expert / 105 (66 per hand) on Master
Approach: Similar to many game bosses, creating some aerial platforms can provide space for dodging, weaving, and avoiding Skeletron’s attacks effectively. Despite his predictable lunges, timing his attacks can be challenging because he swings both arms simultaneously. Being struck by him causes bleeding, making it impossible to heal from your injuries. Prioritize targeting the hands before focusing on the head. Ranged weapons ensure you stay safe from the spinning skull attack.
Rewards: Skeletron Hand hook, Book of Skulls, Chippy’s Couch, Mask, Trophy, Bone Glove (Expert+)
Following the defeat of Skeletron, the Old Man will now be a part of your team and transform into The Tailor, offering various cosmetic items for sale. Additionally, the victory over Skeletron opens up the Dungeon, an essential step in preparing for the challenging Hardmode phase.
Deerclops
In a unique twist, the Deerclops character from Don’t Starve Together seems to be a perfect fit within the realm of Terraria, given its eerie aesthetic. Yet, it manages to remain distinct among other bosses due to its blend of frosty attacks and visual effects that veil the screen, providing a significantly different experience compared to other bosses in the game. Though optional, this boss offers enticing rewards for those seeking an unconventional test before Hardmode begins.
Summoning:
Item: Use a Deer Thing in a Snow biome.
In the game, a world might suddenly materialize at midnight amidst a heavy snowstorm, provided the player’s defense reaches nine points or health exceeds 200. However, the chances of its appearance lessen once it has been vanquished.
Health: 7,000 on Classic / 11,900 on Expert / 15,172 on Master
Damage: Up to 36 on Classic / Up to 72 on Expert / Up to 108 on Master
Strategy: Keep moving and steer clear of its freeze attacks, but don’t stray too far as Deerclops becomes invulnerable when beyond 30 tiles. It is advisable to avoid aerial combat since Deerclops summons Shadow Hands to pull you back down. Prepare yourself with robust armor, good health, and enough potions to sustain close-quarters engagements.
Prizes: Lucy the Axe, Houndius Shootius, Weather-related Pain, Pew-matic Blower, Deerclops’ Eyeball (pet), a variety of Don’t Starve-themed accessories ranging from Bone Helm to Eye Bone, Radio Device, Umbrella with an Eye Design, Eye Bone, and Deerclops Mask
Or, for a more conversational tone:
Prize Items: Lucy the Axe, Houndius Shootius (a helpful hound), Inclement Weather gear, Pew-matic Blower (for hunting), Deerclops’ Eyeball (he makes a great pet!), assorted Don’t Starve accessories from Bone Helm to Eye Bone, Radio Thingy, Umbrella with an Eye Design, more Eye Bones, and Deerclops Mask (to impress your friends)
Wall of Flesh
The true guardian for Hardmode. Overcome it and let chaos ensue to advance further. This boss traverses all of the Underworld, confining you to a challenging horizontal obstacle course where timing, damage, and survival skills are crucial. It’s a trial of your readiness, as it’s the most formidable boss Terraria presents before reaching the second phase of the game.
Summoning: Throw a Guide Voodoo Doll into lava in The Underworld while The Guide is still alive.
Health: 8,000 on Classic / 11,200 on Expert / 14,280 on Master
Damage: 50 on Classic / 150 on Expert / 225 on Master
Plan of Action: Construct a lengthy bridge over the Underworld utilizing sturdy building blocks. This process might take some time since you’ll have to divert lava out of the way, but the longer the bridge, the better as this Cronenberg giant will pursue you from one end of the screen to the other, starting from the side where you tossed the Voodoo Doll into the lava. During combat, prioritize attacking the eyes using your most effective ranged or magical weapon, and be cautious not to find yourself in a position where you’re caught behind.
Rewards: Pwnhammer, Breaker Sword, Mechanical Automatic Rifle, Beam Rifle, Sparkler, Class Symbol, Skull Mask, Artifact, Achievement, Demonic Heart (Expert level and beyond)
Following the triumph over the Wall of Flesh for the initial time, Hardmode gets activated, scattering Hallow and either Corruption or Crimson across the world. As a reward, you’ll always receive the Pwnhammer, an essential tool needed to shatter altars in order to gain access to Hardmode ores.
Hardmode Bosses
Queen Slime (Optional)
Encounter the slippery oil creature called Queen Slime, who gracefully paves the way for Hardmode. Despite her elegant demeanor, she’s not merely a regal King Slime in a wig. Queen Slime is quicker, can fly, and generates crystal assassins that transform a simple jump-and-dodge battle into an intense aerial combat. Frequently underestimated as an optional boss, she provides a strong foundation for what lies ahead.
Summoning
Item: Use a Gelatin Crystal in the Hallow.
Health: 18,000 on Classic / 28,800 on Expert / 14,280 on Master
Damage: Up to 80 on Classic / Up to 160 on Expert / Up to 240 on Master
Approach: Always target minions first since they can fill up the screen rapidly, remember that Royal Gel doesn’t protect you from their attacks. In brief periods when Queen Slime moves slowly, aim your shots at the boss instead. During phase two, avoid standing on the ground as she gains wings once her health drops below 50%.
As a gamer,
1. Crystal Assassin Armor Pieces: Obtain shiny armor sets that make me look like a stealthy Crystal Assassin on my adventures.
2. Gelatinous Pillion (winged mount): Earn a winged Gelatinous creature to ride and explore the game world with speed and style.
3. Queen Slime Collect an enchanted hook that allows me to traverse challenging terrain or reach distant locations in the game.
4. Blade Staff (Summoner): Acquire a powerful summoning staff that lets me conjure deadly blades to aid me in battles against fierce enemies.
5. Slime-themed vanity items: Gather various cosmetic items to customize my character’s appearance, giving them a unique slime aesthetic.
Following the defeat of Queen Slim, no significant events occur, except for collecting some well-deserved rewards.
The Twins
The pairing of Spazmatism and Retinazer poses a formidable twofold threat that surpasses the difficulty of Eye of Cthulhu in Hardmode, despite their visual similarities. This battle is a fast-paced duel against twin perils requiring agility and precision in movement, as well as disciplined focus-fire. Their synchronized phases generate an unprecedented level of pressure for early Hardmode bosses, making it essential to defeat both before the break of day.
Summoning:
Item: Use a Mechanical Eye at night.
World: 10% chance to spawn naturally at dusk once you’ve smashed a Demon or Crimson Altar.
Health: 43,000 on Classic / 64,500 on Expert / 82,237 on Master
As a gamer, here’s my strategy: Focus your attacks on one eye at a time, aiming to knock them out one by one. I suggest taking down Spazmatism first, the one with the green iris, as its cursed flames deal the most damage. Once each eye reaches 40% health, they become more aggressive and fire faster. Ideally, you don’t want both eyes in their second stage at the same time. Building a minecart track or acquiring some wings for mobility will significantly aid you in this fight.
Rewards: Souls of Sight, Hallowed Bars, Twin Mask, mechanical-themed trophies and gear
Following the conquest of a mechanical boss for the initial time, Steampunker NPC will relocate. Overcoming all three (The Twins, The Destroyer, and Skeleton Prime) sets the stage for Plantera’s arrival.
The Destroyer
An enhanced Devourer of Realms, equipped with lasers and numerous scanners, burrows under your battleground, illuminating the darkness with lethal red flashes. Its area-of-effect and penetrative weaponry can tear it apart, but beware, the excessive use of scanners could lead to a snowball effect if you’re not cautious.
Summoning:
Item: Use a Mechanical Worm at night.
World: 10% chance to spawn naturally at dusk once you’ve smashed a Demon or Crimson Altar.
Health: 80,000 on Classic / 120,000 on Expert / 153,000 on Master
Approach: Similar to Eater of Worlds, it’s essential to entice The Destroyer to emerge. By setting up well-designed platforms, you can dodge its head, which inflicts the most damage, and thus minimize the impact of lasers shooting from almost everywhere. Piercing weapons are ideal for this task. How about using Daedalus Stormbow with Holy Arrows? The result would be catastrophic!
Prizes: Souls of Power, Consecrated Bars, Warrior’s Mask, Carriage Parts from the Factory, Silenced Observation Device (Master+)
I’ve kept the essence and meaning of your original list but made it more engaging and easier to read for a general audience. The use of “Prizes” instead of “Rewards” adds a bit of excitement, while keeping the rest of the names descriptive and understandable.
After triumphing over yet another intricate mechanical foe, I find myself basking in the glory of victory. This conquest has granted me the honor of welcoming the Steampunker into my very own town, while also setting the stage for the emergence of Plantera. A new chapter unfolds!
Skeletron Prime
As a devoted gamer, I can tell you that Prime is an absolute challenge for any multitasker out there. This formidable foe comes equipped with a lethal arsenal that includes missiles, sawblades, and lasers, making it a daunting task to dodge and counter its attacks without getting cornered. What makes Prime particularly intimidating is its unpredictability, which is why many players save it for last in their battle sequence.
Summoning
Item: Use a Mechanical Skull at night.
World: 10% chance to spawn naturally at dusk once you’ve smashed a Demon or Crimson Altar.
Health: 28,000 on Classic / 42,000 on Expert / 53,550 on Master.
Damage: Up to 94 on Classic / Up to 158 on Expert / Up to 238 on Master
Approach: Ensure freedom of movement by utilizing multiple evasion spots versus Skeletron Prime’s diverse assaults. Disable its limbs initially, focusing particularly on the laser and cannon appendages, prior to launching a full-scale attack on its skull.
Achievements:: Spirits of Terror, Consecrated Keys, Mask of Skeletron Prime, Trophy (Master+), Mechanical Energy Cell (Master+), Horned Deity Mask (console-exclusive)
Follow-up: This is the final one among the trio of mechanical foes that you can conquer in any sequence. Defeating it unlocks the Steampunker character if it’s your first mech encounter, and vanquishing all three sets the stage for Plantera to appear.
Plantera
As a fan, I’d put it this way: “Experiencing a terrifying jungle encounter once the Mech bosses have fallen. Rush into it prematurely, and you’ll be turned into mulch. The ominous sign of Plantera heralds a significant surge in power, opening up new avenues for progression, such as hardening the Dungeon’s section. However, be wary of getting ensnared in its vines or the chompers will stretch their jaws wide.
Summoning
In the Underground Jungle, you should crack open a Plantera Bulb once you’ve vanquished all the mechanical bosses, as this will lead to its spawning.
Health: 30,000 on Classic / 42,000 on Expert / 53,550 on Master
Damage: Up to 70 on Classic / Up to 140 on Expert / Up to 210 on Master
Strategy: Prior to confronting Plantera, excavate a spacious arena for more maneuverability. Remove the surrounding walls using a hammer for extra space to dodge poison seeds and thorn balls effectively. Limit her movement by employing ranged or magical attacks with mobility enhancements. Keep in mind her aggressive second form; exercise caution during this transformation.
Prizes: Temple Key, Young Sprout, Venusian Magnificent, Leaf Vacuum, Nettle Explosion, Bloom Boost, Wasp Blaster, Mini Staff, Thorn Harpoon, The Cleaver, New Growth, Mask, Trophy, Fungal Sack (For Experts and Above)
Following this event, Plantara lets fall the Temple Key, opening up the Jungle Temple and granting passage to the Golem. Overcoming the plant monarch not only diminishes the expansion of corrupt biomes but also invites the arrival of the Cyborg NPC.
Golem
Grim-faced and sluggish, yet unexpectedly resilient, Golem is encountered within the dense Jungle Temple. The terrain here offers restricted movement options and is perilously strewn with spike traps. Despite his slow pace, each of his powerful punches and searing laser beams can cause damage if not carefully avoided, especially as parts of him detach and become independently mobile.
Summoning
Item: Use a Lihzahrd Power Cell at the Jungle Temple Altar.
Health: 39,000 on Classic / 90,000 on Expert / 114,749 on Master
Strategy: Try to maintain a position above Golem’s line of attack whenever you can, understanding that this is more about endurance than quick victories. A sturdy armor and high health are essential, along with weapons that dish out substantial damage without running out of ammo during the battle. Systematically target its head or arms, but don’t get overly optimistic when its head reaches 0 HP; this is just the start of the actual fight.
Rewards: Pickaxe, Beetle Shell, Arrow, Eye of the Stone Giant, Laser, Fist of the Golem, Possessed Axe, Staff of Earth, Sun Gem, Trophy, Shiny Rock (Expert+)
Rewards: Pickaxe, Beetle Shell, Arrow, Eye of the Stone Giant, Laser, Fist of the Stone Giant, Possessed Axe, Staff of Earth, Sunstone, Trophy, Shiny Rock (Expert+)
Or simply:
Rewards: Pickaxe, Beetle Shell, Arrow, Eye of the Giant Stone, Laser, Golem Fist, Possessed Axe, Staff of Earth, Sun Gem, Trophy, Shiny Rock (Expert+)
Following the battle with Golem, Cultists emerge at the dungeon’s entrance. Defeat these cultists and it will summon the Lunatic Cultist, contributing to the broader Lunar Events narrative.
Empress of Light (Optional)
As a gamer, I can tell you that the Empress of Light in Terraria is a stunning, merciless boss battle. Her patterns are elegant yet ruthless, and a single misstep could end my game in daylight. She’s not just visually impressive; she’s also one of the most challenging encounters. If I’m not fully prepared, the spectacle won’t last long!
Summoning:
World: Kill a Prismatic Lacewing in the Hallow at night once Plantera is defeated.
Health: 70,000 on Classic / 98,000 on Expert / 124,950 on Master
Damage: Up to 120 on Classic / Up to 165 on Expert / Up to 248 on Master
Approach: Initially, capture the Prismatic Lacewing using a net and avoid eradicating it within your realm designed for a challenging encounter. Be aware that it might vanish swiftly if freed outside the Hallow. Catch-and-release is the sole method to confront the Empress of Light during daytime, though be prepared for the most difficult battle you’ll face. For the skirmish, select the broadest battleground feasible, encompassing the entire Hallow, to dodge attacks. Lastly, invest some time in understanding its patterns. This combat resembles Dark Souls, as you’re likely to perish multiple times.
Prizes: Kaleidoscope, Starry Light, Prismatic Hue, Empress’s Feathers, Nightglow, Sunset, Stellar Melody, Rainbow Pointer, Mask, Trophy, Daylight-Exclusive Terraprisma (100% damage only during daytime)
or
Awards: Kaleidoscope, Starry Radiance, Prismatic Shade, Empress’s Plumage, Nightglow, Sundown, Stellar Harmony, Rainbow Indicator, Mask, Trophy, Daylight-Limited Terraprisma (100% damage only during day)
Duke Fishron (Optional)
This sea creature, which appears to be a mix between a pig, fish, and dragon, is one of Terraria’s standout boss designs, reminiscent of South Park’s Man-Crocodile-Pig. It attacks unpredictably, summons sharks, and uses water as a source of power, making it a formidable foe that’s often better faced during Hardmode.
Summoning
Item: Fish in the Ocean using a Truffle Worm.
Health: 50,000 on Classic / 78,000 on Expert / 99,000 on Master
Damage: Up to 200 on Classic / Up to 280 on Expert / Up to 420 on Master
As a gamer, here’s my strategy: It’s best to engage Cthulunadoes during the daylight, keeping a clear view of them. If you prefer aerial combat with Duke Fishron, opt for wings or a flying mount. Alternatively, construct a long platform over the ocean to provide solid footing. Don’t forget to equip some dash boots to aid those crucial moments of swift reflexes. Take him on in Hardmode, but wait until late for the best results.
Rewards: Tsunami Bow, Flairon, Whirlwind Blade, Bubble Blaster, Fishron Feathers (Expert+), Mask, Trophy, Shrimp Truffle Ride (Expert+)
Lunatic Cultist
To start off the final showdown, the plague doctor outfit serves as a clue that the apocalypse is imminent even before the fight commences. Overcoming this adversary initiates the endgame sequence. This battle requires skill in recognizing patterns, with rituals for clones and attacks involving elements. Despite being the smallest boss in the entire game, don’t underestimate its size; it signals a period of tranquility before a massive storm that should be avoided if you’re not prepared to handle catastrophic, earth-shattering lunar occurrences.
Summoning
World: Kill the four cultists at the Dungeon entrance post-Golem.
Health: 32,000 on Classic / 48,000 on Expert / 61,000 on Master
Damage: Up to 120 on Classic / Up to 180 on Expert / Up to 402 on Master
Approach: To discern the genuine Lunatic Cultist amidst the illusions, watch for irregularly shaped eyes, a visible health bar, or an additional golden stripe on its hood. Defending against numerous attacks is feasible by establishing strong barriers that allow you to peek through and administer magic or ranged attacks.
Rewards: Ancient Manipulator, Lunatic Cultist Mask, Lunatic Cultist Trophy
Aftermath: With the Ancient Manipulator, you can start crafting endgame items.
Moon Lord (Final Boss)
It’s hardly shocking, considering the abundance of leaders bearing his name, that Cthulhu serves as Terraria’s ultimate test, accompanied by tentacles adorning his beard. Known as Moon Lord in official terms, he is a three-eyed terror, equipped with laser beams, leeching tongues, and a heart-core that needs to be unveiled and obliterated. It’s no wonder the Dryads exiled him to the moon, leaving only his internal organs behind.
Summoning
World: Automatically appears after all Celestial Pillars are destroyed.
Health: 145,000 on Classic / 217,500 on Expert / 277,311 on Master
Damage: Varies per attack on all modes.
Tactics: The Moon Lord’s susceptibility to debuffs significantly expedites the battle; however, it’s crucial to continually reapply these debuffs whenever he shuts his eyes to regenerate himself. Focus on attacking his eyes, particularly the laser on his forehead. It’s best to evade as much as possible instead of standing still, since taking damage in this fight isn’t advisable. Lastly, having lifesteal can be very beneficial for maintaining your health throughout the prolonged battle.
Solar Defender Machine Gun), Lunar Portal Staff, Portal Gun, Mask, Trophy, Meowmere Minecart. Expert+ includes Suspicious Tentacle, Gravity Globe, Mysterious Tentacle, Celestial Starboard. Master level rewards are Piece of Moon Squid and Moon Lord’s Relic.
