Exotic weapons

Alethonym

All new weapons in Destiny 2 Episode Revenant

  • Weapon Type: Grenade Launcher
  • Element: Stasis
  • Exotic Perks: Harvester Spike, Vestigial Alchemy
  • Catalyst: TBA

In Episode Revenant, a fresh seasonal character called Alethonym is introduced as the latest Exotic. The Stasis Grenade Launcher this character wields consumes regular ammo and releases Harvester Spikes that leave residues (vestiges) after each fatal strike. These residues can be gathered to power up another unique ability of the Exotic, called Vestigial Alchemy.

Once fully powered, which needs 12 charges, the Vestigial Alchemy ability can be utilized, ensuring your next shot yields an ammunition block not just for you, but also for your teammates. Using this skill at half charge results in a Special Ammo block, while using it fully charged gives you a Heavy Ammo block. We anticipate this feature to be particularly useful in demanding content where ammo can be hard to find.

Icebreaker

  • Weapon Type: Sniper Rifle
  • Element: Stasis
  • Exotic Perks: TBA
  • Catalyst: TBA

Back in the day, Icebreaker was an unforgettable Exotic weapon in Destiny, and now, I’m thrilled to find out it’s back for more action in the sequel! Bungie may be keeping the details under wraps for now, but we do have some juicy tidbits – it will be obtainable from Vesper’s Host, and just like the original, it’ll magically replenish ammo to its magazine. Can’t wait to see what else this classic weapon has up its sleeve!

Furthermore, it’s also set to receive extra enhancements, similar to how Dragon’s Breath was upgraded in Lightfall. Although the details are still unclear, Bungie hinted that this would involve physically shattering ice formed by Stasis to amplify the weapon’s performance. Rest assured, we’ll keep you informed as soon as more information becomes available.
