In the final months of 2024, Marvel Rivals burst onto the scene and hasn’t slowed down since. Although opportunities for free items in NetEase’s hero shooter are rare, the developers have a history of offering perks such as complimentary character skins.

Free Marvel Rivals skins

Besides using codes, you can also acquire free Rivals skins through other methods such as giveaways, Twitch drops, or platform-specific gifts. For instance, during Season 0, PlayStation users were able to obtain the Peni Parker VEN#m skin, an MVP animation, spray, and nameplate in a PS-exclusive bundle that included 300 Chrono Tokens for use in the in-game store on items of your preference.

The Marvel Rivals Twitch Drops event is only available for a brief period and offers you prizes just for tuning in to your preferred streamer playing the game on Twitch. At present, the ongoing Marvel Rivals Twitch Drops are happening from March 13 to April 3, with these rewards:

The Marvel Rivals Twitch Drops event is temporary and gives you freebies just by watching your favorite streamer play the game on Twitch. The current event runs from March 13 to April 3, offering these prizes:

  • Adam Warlock Spray – Watch for 30 minutes
  • Adam Warlock Nameplate – Watch for one hour
  • Adam Warlock Skin – Watch for four hours

To get these Twitch rewards, first, make sure your Twitch account is connected to your Marvel Rivals account by going to the official site. Then, once you meet the requirements, log into your Twitch prize inventory and collect your free goodies. When you sign back into Marvel Rivals, you’ll find your rewards waiting in your mailbox. Any streamer playing Marvel Rivals in the right category who has drops enabled will contribute to your progress. You don’t have to watch the same streamer for the entire broadcast to earn the items, and your progress can be checked in your Twitch inventory as a percentage if you’re unsure of how long you’ve been watching.

A different method for acquiring free character skins is simply by playing the game. As you progress through the free version of the battle pass, you’ll accumulate an in-game currency called Chrono Tokens. Right now, 400 Chrono Tokens can be exchanged for either the Peni Parker Blue Tarantula or Scarlet Witch Emporium Matron skins from the battle pass pages, and these change with each new season. If you manage to reach gold in the game’s ranked mode by the end of the season, you’ll also receive the Invisible Woman Blood Shield and Human Torch Blood Blaze skins as rewards. Additionally, if you have purchased the Luxury Battle Pass, there are more skins available for redemption.

Eventually, Marvel Rivals events appear and disappear, occasionally offering free skins as well. At the moment, the Midnight Features event offers the Groot Carved Traveler skin if you finish all investigations while the event is live. Similarly, the Galacta’s Cosmic Adventure event grants the Black Widow Mrs. Barnes skin upon progression.
