In Elden Ring Nightreign, Shifting Earths are huge, map-wide events that take up about a quarter of the game world. They become essential to complete by the second day as a closing circle approaches. Each Shifting Earth offers a unique power that can help you defeat different bosses.

The new area, Forsaken Hollows, introduces the Great Hollow – a dynamic environment that dramatically alters the landscape. This map presents a significant challenge due to numerous gaps that can lead to fatal falls. This guide will explain how to earn the Favor of the Great Hollow and detail its abilities within the Elden Ring Nightreign update.

How to Get the Favor of The Great Hollow in Elden Ring Nightreign

When you start the game, speak to the Iron Menial, then approach the Small Jar Merchant. They’ll indicate the door that leads to a fight with the Dreglord. Don’t worry about winning or losing – this fight doesn’t offer any rewards. After the fight, talking to the two DLC characters will unlock them and trigger the Great Hollow Shifting Earth Event.

Just so you know, the Great Hollow event only happens when a player starts a new downloadable content area, such as the Balancers or the Dreglord. Once you’re in the new area, things will look and play differently, and it’ll take some time to learn the new routes and how the game works to reach level 15 by the end of Day 2.

Okay, so the Shifting Earth power is kinda cool, but it takes some work. Basically, you gotta run around the map and hunt down these blue crystals. When you find one, you ‘resonate’ with it – which, let’s be real, just means destroying it. Every time you smash a blue crystal, the big crystal in the center of the map gets a little more cracked. The cool thing is, these crystals don’t always show up in the same place, so each time you play, you’ve got new spots to explore!

In Solo matches, you only need to destroy three crystals. Teams playing Duos or Trios will need to break four.

Once you’ve activated enough crystals, the Great Crystal will shatter, and you can head to its location as shown on your map. Two paths, lined with crystals, will lead you to the center where you can drop down and claim the Favor of the Great Hollow. This power will automatically fill your Art gauge when you’ve run out of healing flasks, and the effect lasts for the rest of your journey. You’ll also need to break the crystal curse as part of this process.

The Crystal Curse appears in the northwest and southeast areas of the map, near towers and surrounding buildings. Each tower has several floors, and a strong boss awaits on each one. If you defeat all the bosses, you’ll receive a bonus that increases the Murk you earn during this adventure, and also speeds up how quickly your Ultimate Art charges.

The pictures show where to find all the crystals. Keep in mind that not every crystal will appear each time, so if you don’t see one at a location, just move on to the next.
