As a seasoned gamer with years of experience under my belt, I must say that the culinary challenges presented in Zoochosis have truly caught my interest! The idea of crafting just the right blend of ingredients to keep these mutated critters content is quite intriguing.

In the fun-filled world of Zoochosis, there are specific procedures to follow when preparing meals for each enclosure’s adorable inhabitants. Although the tutorial gives you a basic understanding, it’s up to you to explore further as you play. To simplify things and ensure you can whip up tasty treats in no time, we’ve created an easy-to-navigate guide detailing every animal recipe and cooking method found within Zoochosis.

Initially, it’s important to note that the game uses edible items called “Food Bricks,” which are kept in the “Cold Room” section of the “Hub.” During your orientation, the Doc demonstrates this. To get into the Cold Room, you first need to ensure the “Brick Trolley” is not already there and then move it off the train along the track until it opens the freezer doors. Inside, you’ll discover Food Bricks neatly stacked in loading bins for various categories such as:

  • Vegetable
  • Herbal
  • Fish
  • Meat

It’s worth mentioning that each kind of food within the game is scarce and comes in set quantities. The figures displayed on the walls beside each loading bin indicate that you initially have 20 KG of each type of food, with the exception of Meat. If a bin becomes empty, you can replenish it by pulling the lever next to it, but keep in mind that the amount will decrease as you do so. Therefore, be mindful and make thoughtful decisions when using these resources.

As a fan who appreciates these creatures, I always make sure to prepare their meals before venturing to their new enclosure. I’ll grab the necessary food bricks, then load them onto my Brick Trolley and gently push it towards the train. When the trolley is aligned beside the train, I’ll carefully slide the contents inside. Once loaded, I hop aboard the train, ready to continue my journey with their meals securely on board. It’s always a good idea to prepare meals ahead of time, minimizing potential errors and saving precious moments for other important tasks.

Meals are prepared at the designated Kitchen-Factory station on the train, and the items you placed on the Brick Cart will be your available resources.

At the computer positioned above the counter, initiate your experience. You’ll find a menu displaying various zoo animal species on the left side, followed by the necessary ingredients for their meals. The ‘Deviation’ column on the right indicates the tolerance level within which you should maintain the food portion, either not exceeding or falling short of the approved amount. Exceeding the specified deviation percentage for a recipe could potentially make the animals ill.

Choose an animal for meal preparation, and its recipe will appear in the center of the screen. Once prepared, click ‘Cook‘, then pick the first brick to cut. Click ‘Cut‘ and the brick will land on the counter, with a red laser marking the cutting location.

Note: Move the part of the brick you intend to eat towards the right side of the cutting edge. Whatever stays on the left will be the leftovers.

The computer provides an amount of bricks required and the weight of that specific brick. Try to approximate as closely as possible and then cut the brick to fit. Your percentage deviation will be recorded later. If you precisely match the required amount (0.00% deviation) after cutting, you’ll unlock the ‘Food Ninja’ achievement.

You don’t have to prepare separate meals for each animal in their shared enclosure; instead, make one large batch that will be enough for all of them. Once they are fed, proceed with collecting your samples and measurements as needed.

On the computer at the Kitchen-Factory workstation, there’s another tab with recipes for different genetically altered animal versions. As you advance in the game, you’ll find that these recipes call for meat consistently. This requirement is also mentioned in Anthony Hapwood’s floppy disk recordings.

These are the recipes that call for meat, serving primarily as a means to soothe (or divert) the genetically altered creatures, allowing you time to determine if you should put them down or find a way to heal them instead.
