Alexandra Daddario, in a conversation with Elle magazine, was queried about a persistent rumor regarding her that just won’t fade. Without any delay, she responded by saying it’s the speculation that “I am not a good actress.
Daddario stated, ‘I’m not a poor performer; instead, some of the projects I’ve taken on haven’t highlighted my abilities as they should be. It’s all about direction and writing. Sometimes the lighting isn’t great, but I’m not a bad actress. I earned an Emmy nomination, after all. How do you suppose I managed that?’
In the debut season of Mike White’s acclaimed HBO show “The White Lotus,” Daddario played Rachel Patton, a journalist whose tranquil resort getaway is disrupted by her husband’s (Jake Lacy) and mother’s (Molly Shannon) unruly behavior. For her performance, she was recognized with an Emmy nomination for outstanding supporting actress in a limited series. Subsequently, Daddario took on the main role in AMC’s horror series “Mayfair Witches,” which concludes its second season on March 2.
Before receiving her Emmy nomination for “The White Lotus,” Daddario made her debut in Hollywood when she was chosen to play Annabeth Chase in the “Percy Jackson” movie series. After this, she appeared in big-budget studio films such as “Skyscraper” and “Baywatch,” both of which featured Dwayne Johnson. Additionally, her performance in the initial season of HBO’s “True Detective” marked a significant milestone in her acting career.
In simpler terms,
“Previously, Daddario shared with Collider that she wasn’t prepared for an unexpected event in ‘True Detective’. Specifically, it was the unanticipated exposure of appearing nude on a show where her role wasn’t significant. She had no idea what to expect. After the episode aired, her manager called while Daddario was sitting on her boyfriend’s couch. The manager excitedly told her that the phone had been constantly ringing since the morning due to the airing of the episode.
Suddenly, there was a surge of interest in meeting me from everyone around town,” she noted. “Then, I went on to watch ‘San Andreas.’ To be honest, I wouldn’t have predicted the impact it would have on my perception of that role. It was strategically demanding, but not as tactically intense as I had anticipated.
Upcoming, Daddario will appear in the film titled “A Tree Fell in the Woods.” As of now, no announcement has been made regarding a third season for AMC’s series “Whites of Mayfair.
