Comedian Alex Hooper has set a new stand-up special debuting March 18.
The comedy special is set to be distributed by Comedy Dynamics and can be streamed on platforms such as YouTube, Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, and various other significant streaming services.
During an hour-long segment titled “Prepare Yourself,” Hooper candidly shares his personal cancer journey. As stated in a press announcement, this special provides a “humorous, outrageous, and at times, shockingly inappropriate viewpoint on facing the scariest thing one can imagine.
In a humorous light, Hooper shares his journey through Stage 3 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, including its challenges such as fear, hospital visits, navigating the healthcare system, and managing exorbitant medical bills. Yet this special isn’t just about cancer; it’s also about finding humor in the absurdities of life and maintaining optimism amidst life’s most difficult moments.

He gained popularity by donning flashy and glittering ensembles during his performances on the NBC talent program. Judge Howie Mandel referred to him as a modern version of Don Rickles, the young “Don Rickles.” Apart from this show, Hooper has also made appearances in “New Girl,” “Corporate,” “Roast Battle,” and “Bad Girls Club.”

Brian Volk-Weiss, CEO of Comedy Dynamics, expressed his enthusiasm about unveiling Alex’s latest act to the global audience, stating that ‘Brace Yourself’ showcases Alex’s bravery and tenacity as a comic artist.
The movie titled “Brace Yourself” was shot at the Bijou Theater in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and it’s both executive produced and directed by Myke Fuhrman. Alongside him, Kevin Mezick is the co-producer.
