Alan Ritchson Was Nervous Reacher Season 4 Couldn’t Top Season 3. Why That’s No Longer The Case

Fans are really looking forward to Season 4 of Reacher, especially after how much everyone enjoyed Season 3 (available on Amazon Prime). Alan Ritchson admitted feeling pressure to live up to the previous season, but he also shared how he dealt with those nerves and moved forward.

Alan Ritchson is nearing the end of filming for Season 4 of Reacher. In a recent interview with Collider, he discussed the making of the new season and what fans can expect. He also shared his honest thoughts and worries about bringing another of Lee Child’s novels to the screen, explaining that he felt a bit nervous starting Season 4.

I always try to be upfront with my audience. Building a genuine and honest connection with them is important to me, so they know what to expect and can trust what we deliver. After Season 3, I was worried about following it up because it really hit the mark for viewers – it felt exactly like the kind of experience a Reacher show should provide.

He has a good point – people really loved Season 3 of Reacher. The story was strong, and the action was incredible, especially the fight between Alan Ritchson and Olivier Richters, which both actors agreed was the most physically challenging of their careers.

So, the big question was: how could they possibly follow up their previous success? This worried the actor from Playdate. But after talking with the show’s creator, Nick Santora, Ritchson managed to put those concerns aside by changing how he thought about it. He shared:

I reached out to the showrunner, feeling anxious. I explained that I was concerned we’d never be able to create something as good again, that the last episode was perfectly suited to our show, and that viewers might be let down in the future. He responded by saying we shouldn’t try to outdo ourselves, but instead focus on being innovative and surprising the audience. He pointed out that Reacher’s world is full of unpredictable trouble, so we could always offer fresh experiences.

Season 4 will be based on the book Gone Tomorrow. This time, Reacher will be on the run through Manhattan, pursued by dangerous enemies. It promises to be a thrilling and action-packed season, a departure from Season 3, which centered around Reacher going undercover within a private residence to eliminate a target.

Alan Ritchson also pointed out the exciting changes in Season 4, and he’s eager to see how audiences react. He believes this season is their strongest one so far, stating:

Honestly, this season completely blew me away. It’s a total departure from what I expected, and I can confidently say it’s the best one they’ve ever done – hands down. I wasn’t prepared for how good it was!

Honestly, I’m really excited for viewers to finally see this season. The creator shared that he initially had some doubts, but those quickly transformed into complete confidence, and that enthusiasm is totally contagious – it’s got me eager to watch these new episodes too!

During the interview, Ritchson mentioned they had just one week left of filming. This means Season 4 of Reacher is nearly finished, and because he’s filmed most of his scenes, he’s understandably enthusiastic about how it’s all coming together.

As a huge fan of the Reacher series, I’m really excited about Season 4! Everything points to it being something truly special when it hits Prime Video.
