Airline makes tickets more expensive after passengers have already paid

Volotea, a low-cost Spanish airline, is now charging passengers extra for tickets they’ve already booked and paid for.

Anyone who flies often knows how pricey plane tickets can be. Even shorter flights are getting expensive, and many low-cost airlines now charge extra for things like choosing your seat, checking luggage, or getting priority boarding.

Many travelers are happy with just the standard ticket price. But when flying Volotea in Europe, be aware that the price you initially pay might not include all the final costs.

Recently, passengers have noticed the airline raising prices very close to their travel dates, and the airline is explaining this by citing rising fuel costs.

Volotea is letting passengers know that ticket prices might change slightly. This is due to fluctuations in fuel costs caused by the current situation in the Middle East. This price adjustment is part of Volotea’s Fair Price Promise, which you agreed to when you bought your ticket.

A customer shared on Reddit that they were unexpectedly charged an additional €7 for their ticket. While it wasn’t a large amount, they hadn’t anticipated the extra fee.

Someone mentioned that while there is a problem, many people likely won’t complain or take action because of the small cost – only seven euros – and the fine print in the terms and conditions.
