As a passionate movie enthusiast, I’ve got to share my take on last night’s Saturday Night Live episode where they jabbed at the hypothetical third season of The White Lotus. They did a spin-off titled “The White POTUS,” poking fun at the decaying elite who rule our nation. In this satirical sketch, Trump was portrayed by Tim Ratliff and Melania became Victoria with an accent shift. However, my beloved Aimee Lou Wood, who plays Chelsea in The White Lotus, didn’t seem too thrilled about Sarah Sherman’s impression. She shared her displeasure on Instagram Stories, saying, “I found the SNL thing mean and unfunny.” Yes, they should definitely make fun, that’s what the show is all about, but there could have been a smarter, more subtle approach rather than going for the cheap laughs.” Later in the day, she revealed she received thousands of messages from people who agreed with her sentiments.
In this performance, Sherman faced off against Chelsea (portrayed by Jon Hamm, replacing Rick), so there’s a possibility that she might be depicting Cheryl Hines as well. RFK Jr. discusses the idea of removing fluoride from the drinking water. “Fluoride?” Chelsea inquires, sounding puzzled. “What’s that?” However, Wood is renowned for her distinctive front teeth, which are unaffected by fluoride. Incidentally, it was enjoyable to see Alex Moffat reprise his role as Eric Trump once more.
