AI Pokemon Winds & Waves “leaks” are fooling fans ahead of Gen 10

Pokémon fans are navigating another round of fake leaks as they wait for official updates, but this time the supposed leaks appear much more realistic than typical blurry images or early designs.

A popular online post excitedly claimed a new trailer for the Pokemon Winds & Waves game was coming very soon. The post included video footage that appeared to show an early look at the next generation of Pokemon (Gen 10), featuring a new bird Pokemon and the starter Pokemon, Gecqua, evolving into its next stages.

The AI-generated trailer initially seemed very realistic and gained a lot of views. But people soon realized it wasn’t real, and the post clarified it was created using Seedance 2.0 on Yapper.

Fake Pokemon trailer causes uproar with fans

Some fans were disappointed by the high quality of the leaked footage, considering major Pokemon leaks usually don’t start appearing until around 2027. Others worried that these AI-created clips could blur the line between genuine leaks and fabricated content, making it difficult to know what’s real.

People reacted to the fake leak with amusement, with one commenter pointing out how far such creations have come – they used to be made manually, not generated by AI. Others predicted a year filled with similar deceptions, while some dismissed the post as unhelpful despite its apparent success in fooling people.

Pokemon fans are used to seeing fake leaks – with every new generation comes a wave of made-up Pokemon and rumors about trailers. However, artificial intelligence is making these fakes much more convincing, creating footage that looks surprisingly realistic and like it could be from official sources.

Despite the effort, fans quickly realized the leaked evolution wasn’t genuine. The final evolved form of Gecqua looked so different from typical Pokémon that it immediately ruined the illusion for many viewers. Plus, GameFreak, the company behind Pokémon, almost always keeps the evolved forms of starter Pokémon secret until after the games are out.

However, people are still worried. Many believe that if this is the quality of leaks appearing now, the wait for official Pokémon Winds & Waves news will become even more chaotic due to more AI-generated leaks.
