AI Musicians, Parenting, Time Travel, Occult Horror Among Formats Highlighted at Mip London Korea Showcase

During Mip London on Monday, various formats and methods for creating content were spotlighted at the Korea format showcase.

As a passionate cinephile, I can’t help but share my excitement about the captivating Meta-K Studio presentation, which was heavily steeped in the realm of artificial intelligence. In his address, CEO Kim Kwang Jibn shed light on the staggering tripling of K-drama production costs over the past three years. However, he emphasized that by integrating an AI production pipeline, these costs have been significantly reduced.

In their pursuit to create entirely AI-generated worlds and characters, Meta-K is leveraging a variety of technologies including digital doubles, game engines, deepfake technology, and generative AI. Notably, Kim showcased the company’s “Season” project, an innovative endeavor that brings AI virtual music artists to life, each embodying a unique essence inspired by the four seasons.

At Mip London, Studio Meta-K presented several formats such as “Contest for the Queen’s Throne,” a historical musical romantic comedy that is adapted from a popular web novel, “Grand Master Hani Park,” an intriguing dimensional shift fantasy reminiscent of “The Witcher,” and the suspenseful “Wave of Fate.”

Or, more casually:

Studio Meta-K displayed various formats at Mip London, including the historical musical comedy “Contest for the Queen’s Throne,” based on a hit web novel; “Grand Master Hani Park,” a fantasy series inspired by “The Witcher”; and the thrilling “Wave of Fate.

The most captivating aspect of Sangsang Band’s performance revolved around a scientifically accurate show titled “Monster Space,” which explores ominous architectural sites globally – such as concentration camps, torture chambers, and haunting forests where many people have taken their lives. These places are notorious for their oppressive, hazardous, and eerie environments that seem to drain the life out of individuals.

As a movie enthusiast, I can’t wait to dive into Studio CR’s latest production, “Nanny Online: Flower Kids Project”. This captivating series showcases a globally connected parenting initiative, fueled by the collective wisdom of countless participants. The unique “Park Your Prize” segment promises an exhilarating experience as contestants race against time to complete five challenging parking missions and answer five brain-bending quiz questions accurately. If they succeed, they’ll walk away with a life-changing prize of $50,000!

In “Time Traveler: Timeless Legacy,” produced by Apollo Pictures, a character embarks on a journey to find the key for a box holding his grandmother’s will. During this quest, he encounters a time traveler and finds himself transported back to the 1930s. On the other hand, “House of Crime,” a true-crime series from Boda Media Group, focuses on investigating animal crimes, rescuing animals in danger, and advocating for their rights.

Company HiGround, led by the Divorce Attorney Shin, showcased a variety of productions. They unveiled ‘Flower Blooming on a Blade,’ a Korean adaptation of the popular series ‘The Good Place’ starring Ted Danson and Kristen Bell. Additionally, they presented ‘Vigilatio: Awakening,’ an occult horror, as well as ‘The Age of Filiarch,’ a blend of drama and comedy.

BigHouse Entertainment announced its lineup featuring “The Little Summit”, a reality TV show focused on children’s survival, “Symphony on the Road”, a music and travel docu-series, and Season 3 of the food documentary series titled “Royal Table”.

Originating from Imaginus, we have the sci-fi thriller “Fausters”; historical fiction titled “Madame Jade”; a drama-thriller-expose named “Romance Scam”. The story line for “Idol + I” is a thriller, focusing on a K-pop idol accused of murder. In the action-comedy category, there’s “The Badge Brother: Bounty Hunter”. For those who enjoy fantasy and romance, we have “340 Days”, while wrestling enthusiasts will appreciate the period drama “Riki”.

After the presentations, there was a session during which seventeen trailers from some of Korea’s leading film studios were shown, spanning various types of scripted and unscripted programs.
