Ahsoka Season 2 Could Finally Explain Star Wars’ Most Mysterious Force Realm

As the second season of Ahsoka approaches, the show holds a promising opportunity to unveil the genuine events surrounding one of Star Wars‘ most intriguing Force splits. The first season of Ahsoka left an enduring impression on longtime fans of Ahsoka Tano, while skillfully intertwining her story with cherished characters from Star Wars Rebels.

In the intertwining narrative of both Rebels and Ahsoka, it’s evident that they share common characters. However, what stood out in Ahsoka‘s storyline was her reintroduction of a crucial Force ability known as the “Force Vision” within the enigmatic domain called the World Between Worlds. This mystical realm was initially introduced in the fourth season of Rebels, episode 13, titled “A World Between Worlds.” This realm allows Force-sensitive individuals to witness past and present events.

In the series Rebels, it was Jedi Ezra Bridger who initially entered the mysterious realm, whereas in Ahsoka, it’s Ahsoka Tano who ventured into the realm after losing a fight against Baylan Skoll. Ahsoka’s adventure within the World Between Worlds allowed her to come to terms with her past and accept her destiny as Ahsoka the White.

Indeed, the potential scenarios within the World Between Worlds could be boundless for Ahsoka’s second season, making it crucial for Star Wars to fully explore this opportunity.

The World Between Worlds Was Supposed To Be Experienced Differently by Everyone

At Least According to One Rebels Creator

In 2018, Henry Gilroy, who wrote for the show Rebels, shared at DragonCon that when Dave Filoni designed the World Between Worlds, it was intended to appear unique to each individual who entered. This meant that every person who stepped into the realm would have a distinct and personalized experience.

As Ezra Bridger ventured into the World Between Worlds during the fourth season of Rebels, he found it to be a collection of bridges, through which he could listen to echoes from both past and future events. Although many of these voices were unfamiliar to Ezra, keen-eyed Star Wars enthusiasts recognized some familiar voices belonging to characters like Rey Skywalker and Maz Kanata from the sequel era.

It appears that when the World Between Worlds has been shown twice on screen, the way characters enter this realm seems very alike. This is because both Ezra and Ahsoka appear to be on hazy bridges, with a backdrop that resembles a star-filled sky.

In simpler terms, when Henry Gilroy suggests that the realm is unique for each individual, it likely implies that while the realm looks the same to all, it caters specifically to an individual’s requirements or needs.

Ezra Bridger’s and Ahsoka Tano’s Experiences Were Very Different

Which Supports What Gilroy Said

In the realm between realms, Ezra Bridger had the power to glimpse past occurrences through transparent windows. This ability allowed him to shield Ahsoka Tano from Darth Vader’s lightsaber strike because he needed to witness the two individuals who significantly influenced his path as a Jedi.

By rescuing Ahsoka and guiding her into the World Between Worlds, it provided her the opportunity to assist Ezra in accepting the passing of his late master, Kanan Jarrus, and refrain from meddling with his death. Ezra relied on Ahsoka’s guidance to make that difficult decision, but he also needed time to grieve and acknowledge that he could not revive Kanan.

In the story of Ahsoka, things took a unique turn compared to others who’ve entered the World Between Worlds. Unlike those who needed to find a guide, Ahsoka didn’t have to search; instead, Anakin Skywalker appeared to her the moment she stepped into that realm. Also, Ahsoka didn’t just peer into her past through windows like others do, but she physically transformed into her younger self to reexperience some of those memories.

It’s evident that both Ezra and Ahsoka found themselves requiring the World Between Worlds as a means to grapple with certain aspects of their past. In essence, they were compelled to face their history and learn from it.

Could We See Someone Else Enter The World Between Worlds in Ahsoka Season 2?

There’s A Lot of Characters To Consider

In the midst of Ahsoka Tano’s second season being made, there are numerous potential characters who could gain insights from the Realm of Worlds. Among those who might benefit are Sabine Wren, Baylan Skoll, or Shin Hati. Given their challenges in Ahsoka’s first season, witnessing them grapple with aspects of their past could make for an intriguing tale.

It’s evident that Sabine Wren has advanced significantly in her ability to forgive Ahsoka and move past the loss of her family, but it’s important to remember that The Mandalorian has had a tough past, dating back to when she was on Rebels. Finding herself stranded in another galaxy could potentially impact her future.

Beyond this, Shin Hati found herself adapting to life independently from her master, Baylan Skoll. It appears that neither of these characters are clearly leaning towards the dark or light side of the Force, but exploring the World Between Worlds could potentially influence their decision in this regard. Whichever character it may be, it would certainly make for an intriguing exploration of their experiences within the World Between Worlds.

As a movie enthusiast, I can’t help but get excited about the upcoming second season of ‘Ahsoka.’ With creator Dave Filoni hinting at the possibility of involving the World Between Worlds, it leaves me wondering how this enigmatic concept might be woven into the storyline. Characters from distinct galaxies could potentially interact or even travel through it, opening up a whole new realm of possibilities. There’s still so much we don’t know about the World Between Worlds, but I can’t wait to see how ‘Ahsoka’ season 2 unravels these mysteries.
