Having played their original titles Layers of Fear and The Medium, I can attest to the studio’s knack for crafting immersive experiences that push the boundaries of horror.
Following the triumphant remake of Silent Hill 2 by Bloober Team, the studio has recently unveiled an original survival horror series titled “Cronos: The New Dawn“. This game is described as a “complex tale of time travel,” and it’s set in a harsh, post-apocalyptic future that resembles 1980s Poland. Players will assume the role of a Traveler, who belongs to a group known as the Collective. As a Traveler, your mission is to locate and rescue individuals who perished during the apocalypse.
The New Dawn is set for a launch in 2025. This implies that enthusiasts will be able to immerse themselves in this fascinating narrative that blends elements of both past and future in just a short span of time, assuming there are no unforeseen postponements.
In a press release, it is stated that in order to fulfill the Collective’s objective, gamers must endure a lethal wasteland, which emerged following a catastrophic incident called The Change. This desolate land teems with terrifying creatures that will test players’ combat skills to their limits.
In the press release, CEO Piotr Babieno elaborated on the new announcement, emphasizing that the studio’s dedication to reshaping the horror genre is evident in this upcoming survival horror game, which serves as a logical advancement of their creative ideals and business strategy.
Although Cronos: The New Dawn is Bloober Team’s debut in survival horror genre, they are not newcomers when it comes to creating original intellectual properties. Their reputation precedes them with the release of their original horror games Layers of Fear in 2016 and The Medium in 2021.
