Yesterday in the stream focused on upcoming Konami games, a new addition to the popular Silent Hill series was unveiled. While there was no gameplay footage or trailer shown, it was disclosed that a remake of the first Silent Hill game is underway. As the game’s title appeared and the original music played, the Konami Press Start presentation came to an end.
Bloober Team is making Silent Hill 1 Remake
The game coming up is being crafted by the Polish studio, Bloober Team, who are also behind the 2024 edition of Silent Hill 2. It’s been common knowledge for some time now that Bloober Team has been teaming up with Konami on this upcoming project. Yet, it wasn’t until February of this year that the studio disclosed they were still working together with a Japanese company, but didn’t specify the project details at that point in time.
Despite no specifics being shared about the upcoming remake at Konami Press Start, some details have been mentioned in reports from Bloober Team earlier. For instance, we’ve learned that the project, codenamed “Project G,” is essentially a revamped version of Silent Hill, will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. So far, the remake of the sequel has only been launched for PS5 and personal computers.
Excitingly, I can’t wait to share that our hard work on the Silent Hill 1 Remake is being recognized by Konami with future payments upon reaching specified milestones in the development process. More details about this highly-anticipated project will be disclosed at a later date. As of now, the exact release date for the remake remains undisclosed.
