After Justin Baldoni’s Lawsuits Were Thrown Out, His Lawyer Didn’t Mince Words About Blake Lively’s ‘Predictable Declaration Of Victory’

This week saw a significant turn of events in the ongoing legal dispute between collaborators Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni regarding “It Ends with Us.” This week, a judge dismissed Baldoni’s $400 million lawsuit against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and their publicist. Additionally, the court also dismissed Baldoni’s $250 million defamation suit against The New York Times. In response to this decision, Lively’s team expressed their excitement, while Baldoni’s legal representative has since issued a statement.

In simpler terms, Blake Lively’s team celebrated the dismissal of the lawsuit as a “complete victory” and a “total vindication,” while referring to Justin Baldoni’s legal filing as a “sham.” However, attorney Bryan Freedman, who represents Baldoni, disagreed with this assessment and criticized Lively’s camp for their premature declaration of victory. He deemed it “false,” stating that Baldoni and his team are still allowed to revise their claims regarding breach of implied contract and tortious interference with contract. In his statement obtained by People, Freedman also made note of this possibility.

The court has declined to consider the defamation charges we faced, but it has given us an opportunity to revise four out of seven allegations against Ms. Lively, strengthening our case with fresh evidence and more precise accusations. The core issue here involves unproven claims of sexual harassment and retaliation, along with a supposed smear campaign that Ms. Lively’s team characterizes as ‘unverifiable’, since they cannot substantiate events that allegedly didn’t occur.

In December 2024, Blake Lively accused Justin Baldoni, who directed and acted with her in IEWU, along with his production company Wayfarer Studios, of sexual harassment on set. She also alleged that Baldoni and his public relations team tried to tarnish her reputation. Afterward, Baldoni refuted the accusations and filed a lawsuit against The New York Times. Eventually, Lively sued her former co-star, prompting Baldoni to countersue her.

Bryan Freedman, known for representing several high-profile celebrities in recent times, subsequently asserted that the statements made by the Shallows actress are unfounded. He also shared his future plans and spoke to those who have stood by his client during this period.

Above all, Ms. Lively’s assertions hold no more validity today than they did yesterday. With our facts on our side, we move ahead with the same unwavering conviction that we had when this dispute began, eagerly anticipating her upcoming deposition, which I will be conducting. We appreciate the grassroots backing from the public and the diligence of the online detective community who are following the case closely, demonstrating both discernment and integrity.

Justin Baldoni, Bryan Freedman, and their team have up until June 23rd to implement the mentioned adjustments. Simultaneously, Blake Lively’s legal action against Baldoni is ongoing and is expected to reach a courtroom no sooner than 2026.
