Addison Rae shocks fans after feature on Charli XCX remix nominated for Grammy

As a 35-year-old gamer who’s been around the block a few times, I must admit, I initially scoffed at the idea of TikTok stars gracing the Grammy stage. But then came along Addison Rae and her remix with Charli XCX, leaving me in a state of shock and slight intrigue.

The popular TikTok personality and rising musician, Addison Rae, has left fans stunned as her remixed track along with Charli XCX received a Grammy nomination.

2025 Grammy nominees have just been announced, sparking global enthusiasm as fans eagerly speculate over which beloved musicians might take home one or several of the esteemed awards.

Among the names listed, it’s clear that Addison Rae, boasting an impressive 88 million followers on TikTok, stands out as a notable figure.

Initially, Rae gained recognition through her popular dance videos, but she’s expressed ambitions beyond that. Following her online success, she’s appeared in movies like ‘Thanksgiving’ and ‘He’s All That’ on Netflix, and in 2023, she released her first EP titled ‘AR.’

Currently, she’s been nominated for one of the top honors in the music industry following her collaboration on Charlie XCX’s ‘Von dutch’ remix, which has been recognized with a Grammy nomination.

Immediately, her name became a popular topic on X, however, responses were divided. Some enthusiasts are thrilled about Rae, while others are skeptical and raising concerns over the criteria for Grammy nominations.

“The only good thing about Addison Rae being nominated for a grammy is that Bryce Hall is crying somewhere in a corner,” one joked, referencing her infamous on-again, off-again relationship with the TikToker.

With around four decades under my belt, I usually don’t pay much attention to the latest pop stars. However, I found myself quite impressed and even enjoying Addison Rae, thanks to this remix.

At nearly 40 years old, I usually disregard the latest pop music by young female artists, but I found myself quite captivated by Addison Rae after hearing her remix.

“Addison Rae being a Grammy nominee is insane,” yet another commented.

I was pretty shocked when I found out that Addison’s August 2024 hit single ‘Diet Pepsi’ didn’t get a nomination. The moment it dropped, the song went viral, with fans everywhere raving about Rae’s sultry vocals and the captivating black-and-white music video. It was a banger that left us all buzzing!

Among a select few artists, Addison joins newcomers such as Chappell Roan and Sabrina Carpenter who are all up for nomination for the first time.
