As a long-time fan who has spent countless hours immersed in the rich universe of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (MW), I can’t help but feel disheartened by Activision’s latest move. The H2M mod, a labor of love for many fans, was set to bring back the multiplayer magic from MW2 that we missed so dearly in the remastered version.
Unfortunately, despite Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision, the company hasn’t shown increased affection towards mods. In simpler terms, they have effectively halted the release of the eagerly anticipated H2M mod.
- The mod aimed to bring the multiplayer content from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered.
- The project was highly anticipated by the fans. The main reason for this was the fact that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered has a multiplayer mode. However, we never received an updated version of the multiplayer from CoD: MW2. Instead, in 2020, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered was released, which, as the title suggests, only provided a facelift to the campaign.
- The H2M mod premiere was scheduled for today. Nevertheless, yesterday lawyers from Activision contacted the project creators, providing them with a cease and desist order.
- The authors of the modification have no way to defend themselves, so they announced that work on the mod has been abandoned.
- The decision of Activision is very disappointing. H2M was supposed to bring 50 maps from MW2 to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, as well as weapon additions, skins, and even killstreaks.
