Action RPG Bleak Faith: Forsaken launches on August 6 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S

As a longtime fan of open-world RPGs and survival horror games, I’m beyond excited to hear that Bleak Faith: Forsaken is finally making its way to consoles. I first came across this game during its Kickstarter campaign back in 2019, and the unique blend of dark gothic medieval world and brutal modernist architecture immediately caught my attention.

Perp Games, the publisher, and Archangel Studios have made an announcement: starting August 6, Bleak Faith: Forsaken will be available digitally for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S users. Simultaneously, the Steam version on PC, released last year, will receive an update featuring an enhanced block and parry mechanism, powerful heavy attacks that can be charged, new adversaries, user interface modifications, and better controller compatibility.

Starting on September 13, depending on your location, you can expect a physical version of the PlayStation and Xbox releases to become available.

Back in mid-2019, supporters pledged over $30,000 through Kickstarter to bring the Bleak Faith: Forsaken project to life.

A console release date trailer and details can be found below, via Perp Games.

Perp Games and Archangel Studios are thrilled to share that the video game “Bleak Faith: Forsaken” will be available for download on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X starting August 6, 2024. The cost of this game in the respective digital stores will be around £29.99, €34.99, or €29.99 (*keep in mind that the prices on Sony’s store might fluctuate slightly due to exchange rate differences).

In certain areas, starting from September 13th, a Physical Edition will become available for a retail price of £34.99 or €39.99.

At the outset, Archangel Studios’ open world action RPG was introduced for PC gamers. Since then, this small team of three has generously provided numerous free content enhancements, among which is Cooperative Multiplayer, resulting in an epically grand experience.

In simpler terms, the console edition of the game offers various enhancements over its PC counterpart. Besides taking advantage of console-specific features like the DualSense controller, these improvements encompass an upgraded block and parry system, more powerful charged attacks, new adversaries, revamped boss designs, an overhauled protagonist appearance, significant UI modifications, and a controller makeover. Simultaneously, relevant advancements will be rolled out for the PC version upon its console debut.

In “Bleak Faith: Forsaken,” you assume the role of a survivor in a hauntingly beautiful open-world game that blends elements of survival horror, action RPG, and souls-like mechanics. As one of the last remaining humans, you face the mounting terrors of the Omnistructure, an intricately connected and bizarre landscape. This world is defined by its dark gothic medieval atmosphere and decaying modern architecture.

As a gamer, I’d describe my experience as follows: I journey through the ruins of a vast and unforgiving world, where the last remnants of civilization cling on. I delve deep into its history, piecing together the fragments of what once was. The Omnistructure looms large before me, an interconnected web of destruction and rebirth. Every corner holds new discoveries, each pocket of civilization rich in atmosphere and brimming with danger. I tread carefully, knowing that every step could lead to a new revelation or a deadly encounter.

As a gamer, I’m thrilled to explore this game praised for its breathtaking atmosphere. Instead of the traditional leveling up, I enhance my skills and stats by selecting and personalizing the gear I wear. This innovative approach adds an exciting new dimension to the “souls-like” genre.

In Bleak Faith: Forsaken, the appearance and ambiance are exceptionally distinctive and heavily ominous. However, it’s the intense combat that will truly test your skills. Maintain awareness of positioning, timing, and resource management at all times. Brace yourself for formidable battles with unforgettable bosses, as the risk intensifies even further.

Pick a class and develop your unique gameplay strategy. Keep in mind, though, that not all decisions can be undone, so think carefully before determining your character’s path.
