The role-playing game titled “Reincarnation’s Beast” is freshly developed by the creators behind the Pokémon franchise. Unlike the traditional turn-based battles we’re accustomed to, this game offers a unique twist.

As a dedicated fan, I’ve been buzzing with anticipation as whispers have circulated for quite some time about GameFreak studio venturing into uncharted territories beyond their beloved pocket monsters series. Well, today at the Xbox Games Showcase 2025, those rumors were laid to rest! The gameplay trailer for Beast of Reincarnation was unveiled, a title that’s got me beyond excited! As a gamer, I’d put it this way: “This new game, BoR, isn’t like Game Freak’s classic series at all. It’s an action RPG with stunningly realistic graphics. You play as Emma, a warrior armed with a katana, who’s fated to vanquish the Beast of Reincarnation in the post-apocalyptic year 4026. My canine buddy tags along for the ride as humanity teeters on the brink of extinction. It’s got that Studio Ghibli charm, but with a gritty, real-world edge.

To date, the initial materials hint at a gameplay style that resembles games within the ‘Soulslike’ subgenre, but it remains to be seen if the game development team at Game Freak will follow through with this approach. We’ll have to wait for additional information from them to confirm.

In 2026, the game titled “Beast of Reincarnation” is set to release on Xbox Series X/S and PC platforms. It will also be accessible through Microsoft’s cloud gaming service and Xbox Game Pass.
