Action Bronson Joins Austin Butler, Zoë Kravitz in Darren Aronofsky’s ‘Caught Stealing’ (EXCLUSIVE)

As a cinephile who has had the pleasure of traversing the vast terrain of film and television for decades, I must say that the casting of Action Bronson in Darren Aronofsky’s “Caught Stealing” is nothing short of inspired. While Bronson may be known to some as a gifted rapper and culinary enthusiast, his foray into acting has thus far been limited, making this role a significant step in his burgeoning career.

Action Bronson, a Flushing-born rap artist and TV host known for “Fuck, That’s Delicious,” has teamed up with Austin Butler and Zoë Kravitz for the movie “Caught Stealing,” directed by Darren Aronofsky.

The movie chronicles Hank Thompson, a once-prominent baseball player now disillusioned, who finds himself unwittingly thrust into a thrilling struggle for survival amidst the criminal underground of 1990s New York City. Filming is being carried out at present in Manhattan’s East Village area.

The movie ‘Caught Stealing’, produced by Sony Pictures, is adapted from novels written by Charlie Huston. It features an impressive lineup of actors including Regina King, Liev Schreiber, Matt King, and Bad Bunny.

Bronson is a popular hip-hop artist recognized for his relaxed rhythm and humorous, enigmatic lyrics. His most famous track, “Baby Blue,” which he recorded with Chance the Rapper, made it to the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 2015.

Apart from being well-known, he’s actively involved in the food industry, having hosted the Viceland series “Fuck, That’s Delicious” since 2016. This show has had celebrities such as Jonah Hill and renowned chefs like Daniel Boulud and Michael Voltaggio as guests. He also hosted a late-night culinary talk show titled “The Untitled Action Bronson Show,” and led the docuseries “Traveling the Stars: Action Bronson and Friends Watch Ancient Aliens” on Viceland, which is essentially what its name suggests, along with a fair amount of cannabis use.

Bronson has made appearances in Martin Scorsese’s “The Irishman” and Judd Apatow’s “The King of Staten Island”, but his most significant acting job thus far appears to be in the film titled “Caught Stealing”.

Bronson is represented by William Morris Endeavor (WME), Buddy Gates as his manager, and Sebastian Zar as his attorney at Sedlmayr & Associates.
