Academy’s Oscar Viewing Parties Set for N.Y., London and L.A

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is organizing private viewing parties for the Oscars in New York, Los Angeles, and London, inviting only Academy members and select representatives from the film industry.

As I prepare to attend two unforgettable film events, I’m eagerly looking forward to immersing myself in the glamour of New York and London. In the Big Apple, I’ll be gracing the halls of the elegant Mandarin Oriental, where an enchanting cocktail reception awaits, followed by a meticulously crafted menu that promises to captivate my senses. Across the pond in London, the grandeur of The Dorchester will set the stage for another unforgettable evening, complete with a curated menu inspired by the illustrious Oscars Governors Ball. I can hardly wait to share my experiences with fellow cinephiles!

This year, the annual community gathering in Los Angeles is coming back, sponsored by Sony Honda Mobility. Those who attend can look forward to snap-worthy moments, a swag bag filled with goodies from the watch party, delicious hors d’oeuvres prepared by Wolfgang Puck Catering, and wines from Clarendelle & Domaine Clarence Dillon.

This year, some films vying for the Oscars are “Anora,” an independent movie directed by Sean Baker; “Conclave,” a dramatic portrayal of the Pope directed by Edward Berger; and “The Brutalist,” a historical drama helmed by Brady Corbet. “Anora” has been winning major awards at the Producers Guild Awards, Directors Guild Awards, and Critics Choice Awards, while “Conclave” has won BAFTA honors for best picture, best adapted screenplay, best editing, and best British film, and “The Brutalist” took home the Golden Globe for the best drama. “Emilia Pérez” emerged victorious in the category of best musical or comedy.

This upcoming Sunday, the 97th Academy Awards ceremony will take place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. The event will be broadcast live on ABC and also streamed simultaneously on Hulu, reaching over 200 countries globally.
