2022’s Black List script is penned by Jonathan Easley (“Red Right Hand”) and focuses on Johnny Black (Paul), a disillusioned reporter who, following a devastating personal event, is drawn into the clandestine world of an influential, secretive group. The pursuit of a groundbreaking scoop for his career evolves into a journey through deception, manipulation, and distorted realities.

In this new phrasing, I’ve tried to maintain the original meaning while making it more accessible and easier to read.

As soon as Midnight Pool arrived at my workspace, I instantly felt compelled to discuss it with James,” said Paul. “Jonathan Easley’s universe in the script left an indelible impression on me even after I finished reading it. The prospect of collaborating with James in bringing this tale to life filled me with great enthusiasm. We spent hours conversing in my backyard about our shared passion for filmmaking. Following that conversation, it was evident that we were both eager to dive deeper into the project. I consider myself fortunate to be part of this adventure alongside James and the rest of the team.

As a movie critic, I’m excited to announce that the upcoming feature film is being brought to you by the talented minds of Jason Tamasco and Zak Kristofek from Traction, James McTeigue, and Ford Corbett and Nathan Klingher from Gramercy Park Media. The executive producers include Mason Eways, Keith Danko, Joshua Harris, Mark Fasano, Brandon Burrows, Nat McCormick, and Danny Gusman. The North American sales will be handled by CAA Media Finance and UTA Independent Film Group, while Stoic will represent the international sales rights.
