A24’s Edgar Allan Poe Reimagining Replaces Sydney Sweeney With Recent Oscar Winner

I’m thrilled to share that a fresh Oscar winner could potentially step into Sydney Sweeney’s shoes for Charlie Polinger’s modern take on Edgar Allan Poe‘s 1824 tale, “The Masque of the Red Death.” Originally, Sweeney was set for this project, but scheduling issues forced her to withdraw – she’s currently busy filming season 3 of “Euphoria.

As a dedicated cinephile, I’m thrilled to share that, according to The Hollywood Reporter, it seems Mikey Madison is in discussions to grace the silver screen in A24’s The Masque of the Red Death. If all goes well, we might expect this production to roll cameras this summer. Intriguingly, if the negotiations succeed, Mikey will reportedly embody a pair of long-lost twin sisters who venture into a deranged prince’s castle amidst a plague, uncovering a depraved royal world. The movie is being touted as a classic A24 production and could strike a chord with the TikTok generation through relatable memes and scenes that will undoubtedly raise some eyebrows!

More to come…
