A new Sims mobile game quietly went live but it’s not what you think

As a lifelong Sims enthusiast who has spent countless hours crafting digital lives and communities, the recent announcement of The Sims Labs: Town Stories has me absolutely buzzing! I can already envision the vibrant town of Plumbrook coming to life under my virtual fingers, shaping it according to my dreams.

Here’s an overview of the latest addition to The Sims series on Google Play Store – a must-read for everything you should know!

This has been quite an interesting week for Sims fans. Not only do we get to see a glimpse of what the upcoming Life and Death expansion pack has to offer, but a new The Sims game on mobile has been spotted. The latter is called The Sims Labs: Town Stories, and it is currently already listed in the Play Store.

To set the record straight, let me clarify that this isn’t just another version of The Sims Freeplay or Project Rene. Instead, it’s a unique, thrilling building simulation experience all its own! Unfortunately, as of now, it’s not accessible for download in every region. However, there are some tidbits of information and sneak peeks available that give us a glimpse into what makes this game so special.

According to the app’s description, this game revolves around the thrilling journey of moving into a town named Plumbrook. As the player, your mission is to bring your aspirations of building an ideal town to reality, and watch as the lively community you nurture unfolds.

Living in this town, you’ll find yourself surrounded by charming green areas, community gardens, and peculiar neighbors as your new neighborhood. As part of your journey here, you’ll have the challenge of gaining the trust of the townsfolk – a task that’s known to be quite difficult.

Although the game is newly announced, initial gameplay clips displaying the opening moments have already surfaced. Based on what we’ve seen so far, players are given the option to select their preferred Sims at the beginning of the game.

This section deviates slightly from the standard Customizable Appearance System (CAS) found in The Sims series, as these characters seem to come with pre-set features. However, since the option for full customization is promised to be released in the future, it’s reasonable to assume that this is an early version of the game and that players will have the opportunity to fine-tune these characters more extensively based on their personal preferences at a later stage.

In the video, beloved character Bella Goth reappears, assisting you step by step as you establish your new residence and various game features.

Based on the promotional materials and descriptions provided, it appears that the game combines elements of managing structures along with social interactions. Given that it’s a mobile title, it’s likely that in-app purchases or other monetization strategies may be introduced in the future.
