A new PlayStation event is likely happening next week, according to trusted source NateTheHate2. It’s currently unknown if it will be a ‘State of Play’ presentation or a larger ‘Showcase’ – the latter hasn’t occurred in over two years.
PlayStation’s recent State of Play presentations have each highlighted one game: Ghost of Yotei in July and the new James Bond game, 007: First Light, from IO Interactive earlier this month. If a new report is accurate, that means we could see two big PlayStation events in a single month. Interestingly, NateTheHate2 correctly predicted the date of the latest Nintendo Direct at the beginning of September.
Marvel’s Wolverine, the upcoming game from Insomniac Games, might be showcased at the PlayStation event next week. Recent reports from MP1st suggest the game is currently planned for release in 2026. This game was originally revealed back in 2021.
We might also see announcements for games like Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet (from the creators of The Last of Us) or Saros (from the team behind Returnal), as well as other games from different developers. Sony has already held five PlayStation State of Play presentations this year, but it’s important to remember they haven’t confirmed any new games yet.
