A New Darksiders Game Teased By Publisher THQ Nordic

As a seasoned gamer with years of experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement upon hearing about THQ Nordic’s latest Digital Showcase and the tantalizing teaser of a new Darksiders game! The Darksiders series has always been a favorite, with its intriguing lore, captivating gameplay, and visually stunning worlds.

THQ Nordic recently showcased some upcoming games in a digital event. Highlights include Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed scheduled for release on September 24, 2024; the Lintukoto Reserve DLC for Way of the Hunter that is already available; and future titles such as The Eternal Life of Goldman, Titan Quest II, Wreckfest 2, and a remake of Gothic 1.

Towards the tail-end of that presentation, they dropped a hint about a brand new installment in the Darksiders franchise – a teaser trailer, to be exact. No details were given then and there, but it’s official! Last weekend, their posts on PlayStation Blog and Xbox Wire confirmed it all. However, we’re still waiting for more juicy tidbits about this upcoming adventure.

At present, the Darksiders series consists of three primary games and an additional title, Darksiders Genesis, which was launched in 2019. This game focuses on one of the horsemen, Strife, as he assists in humanity’s rescue from Lucifer. As per THQ Nordic’s recent updates, it appears that the Four Horsemen are set to return.

The foreboding rumble of caverns eons old. Embers swirl through the air, cast up from pools of bubbling lava. Three enormous heads, hewn from otherworldly stone, suddenly burst into life with mystical flame. The Charred Council roar a single word in unison: HORSEMAN.

It has been confirmed that Gunfire Games, known for their work on Darksiders 3, are developing a new game; however, details regarding the upcoming Darksiders title remain unclear. As for the untitled Darksiders game, we’ll keep you posted as more information becomes available. In the meantime, we will monitor development news and share updates when they become clearer.
