A Minecraft Movie Director Responds To Cops Being Called To Showings Of The Movie

Ever since I hit the cinemas, there’s been an explosion of clips from screenings showing folks going wild – yelling, screaming, tossing popcorn, and even sneaking in a live chicken! In one instance, the cops had to step in to quiet down some rowdy teenagers due to claims of property damage. Now, director Jared Hess has spoken out about the… intense reactions from the audience.

Speaking to EW, Hess said, “It’s weird when you’re having too much fun and the cops get called.”

The director chuckled as he commented, “It was simply laughing and tossing popcorn, yet the police were summoned. Yes, it was quite amusing. I’ve seen countless humorous videos. It’s delightful, particularly when friends support each other by standing on one another’s shoulders and cheering enthusiastically.

Hess explained that a significant factor fueling enthusiasm for a Minecraft film is its expansive fanbase, which spans countless millions, eagerly anticipating the movie’s release.

Hess expressed it as if he were saying, “It feels like a wild excitement is building up. Yet, I’m simply thrilled that folks are creating cherished moments with their companions and loved ones.

Additionally, during the interview, Hess commented on one of the standout scenes from A Minecraft Movie, known as the “chicken jockey.” He expressed excitement at the response it has received so far, describing it as a real treat.

The Minecraft film, without a doubt, ranks among the worst movies I’ve ever watched. However, the universal response to “Chicken Jockey” has made the entire experience worthwhile.

Over the course of its opening weekend, I was blown away as the Minecraft Movie raked in over $300 million globally, securing itself a spot among the top 10 highest-grossing video game adaptations with a total haul of $343 million by April 10. Now, with predictions pointing towards surpassing The Angry Birds Movie’s earnings ($352 million) this weekend, it looks like we can expect this blockbuster to keep scaling new heights on the charts!

Similar to several films by Hess, opinions on A Minecraft Movie have been divided. At TopMob, our assessment of A Minecraft Movie resulted in a rating of 7 out of 10.

With the tremendous success of a Minecraft Movie at the box office thus far, it’s not surprising that discussions about a follow-up film are happening, and a potential new character might lead the cast. However, it should be noted that an official confirmation for a sequel has yet to be made.

As a die-hard Minecraft enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that the Minecraft Movie is now screening in cinemas, and it won’t be long before it hits the shelves as a Blu-ray!
