A Halloween Game Powered By Unreal Engine 5 Is In Development, Gamer John Carpenter Is Involved

As a seasoned gamer who has navigated through countless digital terrains and survived numerous virtual nightmares, I can confidently say that the return of Halloween to the gaming world is nothing short of exhilarating news! Having grown up with the chilling echoes of Michael Myers’ footsteps in my nightmares, I am eagerly anticipating the opportunity to relive those bone-chilling experiences in a more immersive and terrifying way.

The popular slasher IP “Halloween” isn’t staying buried for too long; it’s coming back to life as two fresh games. These new projects, one utilizing Unreal Engine 5, are being crafted with guidance from the original director John Carpenter, and both are under development at Boss Team, known for their work on Evil Dead: The Video Game.

As a passionate gamer, I’m excited to contribute to resurrecting Michael Myers in this game, and my aim is to give you a good fright, said Carpenter to IGN. He also mentioned that he will have a hands-on role during the game’s development. Moreover, Boss Studios hinted that players would get a chance to reexperience scenes from the movie and control iconic characters.

Modern horror video games have been inspired by popular classic horror movie franchises such as Friday the 13th, Evil Dead, and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, with Halloween’s Michael Myers being one of the earliest examples in gaming, debuting on Atari systems in 1983. More recently, he has made appearances as a downloadable character in games like Dead by Daylight and Call of Duty: Ghosts.

As of now, neither of the two Halloween games has a confirmed launch date, as development on both continues in its initial phases. Meanwhile, acclaimed gamer John Carpenter is also working on another video game titled Toxic Commando, which is a team-oriented shooter that takes place in an entirely new world conceived by the renowned writer and director.
