Reflecting on the past five years, it’s become challenging to recall the days before “Love Is Blind” graced our screens. What kind of existence did we lead prior to the constant presence of individuals like “Messica,” “Bartise,” and “Sam from London” echoing within our minds? Who were we as individuals before an image of Cole’s unsanitary bathroom left a lasting impression on us? And how did we manage without this delightful, somewhat absurd, show occasionally entertaining our living rooms?

Within just five years, LIB has expanded its reach across various continents, making its presence felt in places as diverse as Brazil, Japan, Sweden, and the United Arab Emirates. It’s tasted a traditional German bratwurst, mingled in British pubs, and enjoyed a summer getaway in Mexico. The future holds visits to Italy and France for this rapidly growing franchise. As it expands, so does its rich history and lore.

Frankly, it’s a challenge for anyone to remember all these couples and their relationship statuses. It takes an extraordinarily attentive and well-rested person to have watched every single season, committing those numerous names to memory like a personal trivia bank. In simpler terms, as Adele would say, “Hello again — it’s me.

Let’s reminisce about 19 seasons filled with charm, relationships, passion, and pain; witnessing weddings, breakups, and everything in between. We’ll re-experience the dramatic reunions and cherish every bit of destiny that unfolded throughout. For your convenience, here is a comprehensive rundown of all the couples from the Love Is Blind universe, including updates on their current status.

Love Is Blind

Sara and Ben, Season 8

From the outset, this pair seemed destined for challenges. When Sara inquired about Ben’s views on sensitive political matters such as George Floyd and Black Lives Matter during their pod conversation, he responded ambiguously by fiddling with his thumbs. Despite the lively camaraderie and their shared enthusiasm for taking selfies (both in front of mirrors and air fryers), one might question if this is a robust basis for a lasting union. At least, we can appreciate that this season brought us into contact with Sara’s sister, Lisa, and her partner, Kelsie, who swiftly voiced their reservations about the match to Sara.

Relationship status: Split up.
Sara found herself unable to proceed with the wedding for all too familiar reasons. She also hinted darkly about topics such as Black Lives Matter and LGBTQ+ rights, but remained tight-lipped when it came to “the vaccine” subject. Now that I know they didn’t tie the knot, I must admit my blood pressure noticeably decreased.

Taylor and Daniel, Season 8

After much search, we’ve discovered it — the pinnacle of couples from “Love Is Blind”: an infinity scarf mysteriously transformed into two individuals. Taylor and Daniel share a fondness for Christmas and Taco Bell, making them seem as if they were designed for a Wayfair advertisement. Despite their Instagram controversy, I doubt anyone was truly deceived by it.

Marital Status: Indubitably, they got married! It was destined, as clear as the Crunchwrap Supreme constellation in the sky. In a heartwarming instance, Taylor and her family paused to express their gratitude that her father, who had been unwell during the dating process, could witness her walk down the aisle. As the sole couple from season 8 to tie the knot, they face pressure, but I’m confident Daylor can handle it.

Monica and Joey, Season 8

Simply put, I must confess: This pairing between Monica and Joey was a delight! Their compatibility shone brightly within those “pods,” and their lively chemistry never dimmed. Regardless of what they’re up to—be it dancing, sledding, or even squabbling over sock bins—Monica and Joey always appear to be enjoying themselves immensely. He revealed his OCD struggles to her, and she found comfort in his encouragement as she took a break from work to help care for her grandmother. In essence, their bond seemed like the kind of special relationship that could blossom into something truly remarkable.

Status of our relationship: We’ve parted ways.

Truth be told, I’ve seldom been as distressed by a TV separation. The breakup, however, was warranted. Monica yearned for more physical intimacy, while neither expressed love before the altar. Additionally, there was that ongoing issue with Monica’s sister, which always seemed unresolved. Following our reunion, it seems improbable that we’ll bump into each other at a Minneapolis bar, share some cheese curds, and sort everything out.

Virginia and Devin, Season 8

In an unusual turn of events during their social circle’s courtship season, Devin displayed strong affection for both Brittany and later Virginia. However, his interest in Brittany waned dramatically when she disclosed a past encounter with another woman (first red flag). Later, he presented the same tale about his ibuprofen dependency to Virginia, who ultimately became his fiancée. Post-honeymoon, their relationship began to deteriorate, and it wasn’t solely due to her finding his extensive sneaker collection excessive. After successfully persuading Devin to sign a prenuptial agreement, Virginia grew curious about his political views – a topic he was noticeably vague in discussing.

Virginia didn’t end her relationship with Devin because of their political differences, but rather due to challenges in communication and the fact they hadn’t been intimate yet. These are valid reasons, but not everyone understands this perspective, as one of Devin’s family members expressed confusion. Oops!

Taylor and Garrett, Season 7

In each round of the show LIB , there’s a standout pair, and in season seven, that was Taylor and Garrett – the charming duo who seemed destined for each other from the start. Despite a brief hiccup when he became uneasy over her reluctance to discuss her background, they were an inseparable pair from then on. Taylor and Garrett gave off the vibe of a long-married couple within the group, and even during their texting controversy, it was clear they were committed for the long run. As the saying goes, couples who stick together, tape together.

Relationship status: Clearly, they’re married, given their current house hunting in D.C. Moreover, though Taylor and Garrett have refuted any credit to the “wifey effect” for his improved appearance post-marriage, the key point is that it indeed transpired.

Ashley and Tyler, Season 7

Tyler, why on earth did you believe you could appear on TV without your private life becoming public knowledge through TikTok? Have you ever actually watched the show? Although Ashley and Tyler shared their religious beliefs, it didn’t take long for Tyler’s paternity controversy to dominate the season (and LIB fans’ social media accounts), turning him into an immediate villain. Despite this, Ashley stood by his side throughout everything, from the altar up until the reunion; however, the lingering odor of the scandal never truly vanished.

Current marital status: Ashley is divorced now. It’s unfortunate that despite their commitment, the differences between them grew to a point where they had to part ways. In a statement, Ashley acknowledged this change, expressing that their visions for the future were no longer compatible, making it challenging to maintain their marriage. She stated that separating was essential for her personal development and tranquility. It seems like a wise decision!

Sarah Ann and Jeramey, Season 6

Sarah Ann aspired to be the epitome of joy this season, yet she found herself as a solitary patriot. She reached out to Jeramey while he was still in a relationship with Laura, aiming to make their podcast partnership workable, although Jeramey had picked Laura over her in the podcasts. Fortuitously for Sarah Ann, she and Jeramey met at a bar and conversed until 5 a.m., which led Laura to terminate her engagement with Jeramey when he lied about his whereabouts. Sarah Ann and Jeramey later departed on jet skis together at the lake party, strengthening their bond; they insisted nothing untoward occurred between them while he was still with Laura. Got it, Jane.

Status: They’ve split up.
They admitted at their reunion that they had been struggling with their relationship for over a year and seem to have lost many friends from the Love Is Blind group along the way. Fortunately, this means the rest of North Carolina can avoid dating them. Sadly, they’ve moved on from each other since then.

Amy and Johnny, Season 6

During their stint on Love Is Blind, Amy and Johnny experienced the least amount of turmoil. A significant portion of their journey revolved around discussions about birth control and strategizing how to inform Amy’s traditional father about her finding love on a reality TV show. Fortunately, this drama was brief as Amy’s father prioritized her happiness above all else.

Relationship Status: Amy and Johnny got married. The union of their families was heartwarming during the ceremony, with plenty of tearful moments. Let’s wish them luck in learning more about family planning.

A.D. and Clay, Season 6

In what order should we proceed? Clay found himself going head-to-head with Matthew, who functioned like a walking “Well, Actually,” for A.D.’s affections. After a close call, Clay and A.D. finally connected in the Dominican Republic. When they met, Clay made it clear that he would have no problem suggesting his future wife hit the gym if she needed to shape up. To add fuel to the fire, Clay held the view that infidelity was genetic; his father had been unfaithful to his mother throughout their relationship, eroding any trust he had in monogamous relationships.

Relationship status: Currently separated.

Despite his grand display of affection during their wedding, Clay realized that his past traumas were too overwhelming for their impending union. It’s hard to imagine maturity from a man who, upon seeing his bride, blurted out “Body”, and even muttered “No” during the ceremony. Fortunately, A.D. didn’t seem to catch on as she still said yes at the altar. Their subsequent reunion confirmed that they have indeed split up (fortunately, she didn’t end up with Matthew).

Lydia and Milton, Season 5

The story between Lydia and Milton faces some rough patches – quite fitting for two enthusiasts of geology. They manage to surmount an age difference, as well as Lydia dealing with Uche, her real-life ex, alleging that she manipulated the experiment. In the end, they find a way to make it work, proving that in love, all means can be justified – much like how it goes in “Love Conquers All”.

Relationship status: Lydia and Milton got married.

In other words, this couple weathered anything the series presented them with. During one of the weddings in season five, they chose to tie the knot. Milton’s poised certainty is something we can all learn from. Do you think they might move in with his Pokémon-enthusiast roommate?

Stacy and Izzy, Season 5

This couple faced some challenges on their path to marriage too; they were part of a complex romantic situation involving four people, which disintegrated during a group barbecue. Despite publicly criticizing Johnie as “fake,” they encountered problems at home, primarily due to Izzy’s poor credit history.

Relationship status: Called off / Ended abruptly

Stacy decided to end their relationship at the last moment, stating she needed more time to consider such a significant life choice. (I’m guessing she’s aware she’s on ‘Love Is Blind’, right…) Despite initially appearing they would continue dating, the couple ultimately parted ways permanently while outside the venue, as Izzy didn’t want to introduce doubt into his life.

Brett and Tiffany, Season 4

This pair looked like a model couple from a pod, remarkable even amidst Tiffany’s habit of falling asleep during conversations, which was often caused by a large bottle of tequila. Despite the challenges that arose post-honeymoon, such as differences in friends, families, and living arrangements across cities, they remained unbroken. Brett was willing to improve his already tidy apartment, while Tiffany showed no signs of falling asleep again.

Relationship status: They are married now. Despite an unexpected alteration during their wedding, they exchanged vows and sealed their union with a kiss. Here’s hoping everyone finds a connection as strong and passionate as theirs!

Zack and Bliss, Season 4

Initially, Zack and Bliss had a bumpy beginning, mainly because he proposed to another woman, who happened to be the infamous mean girl of the season, Irina. However, once that relationship ended, they reconnected in Seattle. They eventually got engaged on a boat, fully aware of each other’s appearances. But their relationship wasn’t without challenges – they faced skepticism from their families due to their rapid engagement and timeline, and Bliss had to decide if she could move past Zack’s previous engagement.

Marital Status: Currently Married.

Though her father advised her not to “settle” before walking down the aisle, these two are now married and enjoying their life together, dancing to Lee Ann Womack’s “I Hope You Dance”. May their shared passion for owls keep their bond strong for eternity.

Kwame and Chelsea, Season 4

Originally, Kwame held two robust relationships within the pods, however, following his breakup with Micah, who was a close friend of Irina, he formed a partnership with speech-language pathologist Chelsea. Despite their initial chemistry, they encountered several obstacles along the way. These challenges included Kwame’s mother’s disapproval, his reluctance to relocate from Portland, and Kwame persistently flirting with Micah. Does it seem like a recurring theme?

Relationship status: Kwame is married. The pre-wedding nerves he had were calmed by his big sister Barbara, allowing them to walk towards a sunset, surrounded by pink kitchen appliances and their beloved dog Rocky.

Jackie and Josh, Season 4

It turns out that Jackie and Josh didn’t get engaged on “Love Is Blind” like most of the other couples. Instead, they both said yes to different partners. While it appeared that Jackie got engaged to Marshall, the post-wedding special revealed a surprise: Josh actually proposed to another cast member named Monica. However, things took an unexpected turn as Josh expressed his displeasure over Monica revealing their engagement publicly. After Jackie called off her own wedding, she and Josh made a dramatic appearance together during the chaotic live reunion.

Relationship status: Currently separated. It seems that the Irish Goodbye scene between Jackie and Josh during the “After the Altar” special had quite an effect – only weeks after the episodes were released, Jackie confirmed that she and Josh had parted ways following their on-screen dispute with his former fiancée. In contrast, Marshall is now contentedly dating a doctor named Chay and enjoying a drama-free life.

Brennon and Alexa, Season 3

Initially, it might seem unlikely that city-dweller Alexa and farm-raised Brennon would make a compatible couple, given their contrasting backgrounds (Alexa being Jewish and urban, while Brennon is Christian and rural), and their differences in personality (Alexa as an assertive alpha, and Brennon with his historical apprehension towards commitment). However, sparked by a romantic encounter and mutual affection for shakshuka, their relationship blossomed, managing to surmount challenges such as family visits and peer drama among their fellow podders, with relatively few obstacles along the way.

Relationship status: Alexa and Brennon are married. Their love story resembles a fairy tale, with an emotional wedding ceremony as the beginning of their journey together. Alexa frequently visits Brennon’s family at the farm, while his acceptance of her expansive wardrobe seems boundless. They refer to each other as “lobsters,” a term inscribed on their wedding bands, symbolizing their deep and enduring connection.

Matt and Colleen, Season 3

Following numerous heartbreaks in the dance studios, ballerina Colleen eventually confided in Matt, leading to their engagement. However, their relationship quickly escalated into intense arguments throughout the season, with Matt growing frustrated over a variety of issues such as Colleen’s flirting and her frequent visits to bars. Tensions further heightened during the bachelorette party when Colleen admitted that she would sacrifice herself for Matt, but questioned whether he felt the same way. Raven’s expression spoke volumes at that moment.

Relationship status: They’re married! Despite facing countless criticisms online, they’ve stuck together. Colleen gracefully leaps over the naysayers, having exchanged vows at the altar. Interestingly, they haven’t moved in together yet; it seems love might be great for a partnership, but not always ideal for sharing living space.

Raven and SK, Season 3

As a devotee, I’m thrilled to share that our beloved Pilates instructor, Raven, found her match in grad student SK, skillfully dodging the potential pitfall that was Bartise along the way. Their bond didn’t ignite instantly, but rather simmered like a workout session, with Raven guiding him through exercises instead of deepening their physical connection initially. However, by the time the wedding day arrived, Raven had grown deeply committed to this relationship, even adorning a gele in celebration of SK’s Nigerian roots. A woman who can balance strength and culture? Now that’s a catch!

Status of Relationship: Split (again)

After Steve (SK) left Raven at the altar, they attempted to make their relationship work once more. During the special episode titled “After the Altar,” Steve even proposed again. However, a short while later, they parted ways for a second time when accusations of Steve cheating surfaced online. It’s yet to be seen how his overprotective mother feels about this situation.

Shayne and Natalie, Season 2

Regardless of Shaina’s efforts to create tension between them (and Shayne occasionally mistaking Natalie’s name), Shayne and Natalie managed to leave the pods with a strong bond and happiness. Furthermore, they experienced only minor disagreements concerning financial matters and wedding planning (as Natalie wisely vetoed Old Fashioned fountains at their wedding), suggesting that perhaps opposites indeed find attraction in each other, hinting at a harmonious home life.

Current Relation: Split Up. It seems their relationship reached a critical point before their wedding, during an unscripted argument that occurred off-camera, leading Shayne to express his dislike for Natalie and calling her the worst thing that ever happened to him. Following the breakup at the altar, they tried to reconcile but it didn’t last. Later, Shayne appeared in the show Perfect Match, a claim made by Natalie that he got cast even while they were still dating. It might be wiser to move on from this story.

Nick and Danielle, Season 2

From the very start of season two, it was evident that Nick and Danielle were well-suited for one another. Danielle grew accustomed to Nick’s quirks, such as his homemade toothpaste, while Nick learned about Danielle’s eccentricities, including her love for costumes and destroying tables. However, their harmonious relationship quickly deteriorated, with constant squabbles becoming the norm. The breaking point came during a party with their fellow castmates and after Nick met Danielle’s family. To add to the tension, both seemed excessively preoccupied with their pets, creating more friction in their relationship.

Marital Status: Previously Married. Despite getting married at the end of season two and staying together during the reunion and ‘After the Altar’ special, Nick and Danielle announced their divorce in the summer of 2022, leading to a series of public disputes. Perhaps choosing custom-made dog socks could be a warning sign.

Jarrette and Iyanna, Season 2

Initially, Jarrette struggled to decide between Iyanna and Mallory in the living quarters, eventually opting for Mallory, but she rejected him. Subsequently, he sought a romantic connection with Iyanna, the program supervisor, despite still showing affection towards his former partner, “Mal-Mal,” at social gatherings. Despite acing the friend-and-family trials, the relationship between them faced challenges when Jarrette’s bustling social life conflicted with Iyanna’s reserved personality.

Marital Status: Divorced. Despite exchanging vows at the end of season two, their reality show special, “After the Altar,” exposed several warning signs in their relationship, such as disagreements over a baby timeline and Iyanna moving out. They officially announced their separation in August 2022, coinciding with the rumors about Nick and Danielle’s upcoming divorce. A shared podcast often signals a joint journey towards divorce.

Damian and Giannina, Season 1

Following a romantic double proposal (with an initial passionate encounter in Mexico), Damian and Giannina swiftly transformed into one of the most turbulent couples among them. They argued about social media, they argued about intimacy, they argued about feeling uncomfortable – it’s no surprise that Damian’s parents decided against meeting her due to their constant disputes.

Status: Currently Single

After Damian and Giannina ended their relationship dramatically at the altar (with Giannina leaving in a rush, staining her dress), they briefly reconciled but parted ways again in August 2021, amidst speculation that Damian was seeing Francesca Farago from ‘Too Hot to Handle’. Currently, Giannina is dating Blake Horstmann from ‘Bachelor in Paradise’, while Damian unsuccessfully pursued a relationship with Francesca on ‘Perfect Match’. As they say, love may not be blind, but it can sometimes find another reality TV star.

Barnett and Amber, Season 1

As a movie enthusiast, I can tell you that it wasn’t just Amber who Barnett had feelings for in those pods – there was also Jessica, the one who allowed her dog to drink her wine. Yes, he found himself in a difficult situation, torn between the two of them. In the end, he chose Amber, and we instantly felt their strong physical attraction. However, their relationship wasn’t without its challenges. From Amber’s past abortion and student loans to his family not approving, they encountered a variety of real-life issues.

Relationship status: Currently married. Despite initial hesitations on both sides, Barnett and Amber exchanged “I do’s” at their wedding. They reside in Georgia with their shared canine companion, Koda. Not even Jessica could find fault in their union.

Cameron and Lauren, Season 1

The original participants, Lauren and Cameron, serve as a model for this show since they were the first couple to get engaged. From their initial conversation onwards, it seemed like love at first sight. Although content creator Lauren had reservations about sacrificing her independent life with scientist Cameron, they managed to keep drama to a minimum throughout the series, except for a few light moments like Cameron offering to share his toothbrush or rapping in front of Lauren’s mother.

As a passionate cinephile, I’m proud to say that my status is “blissfully wedded” and I reside in the vibrant city of Atlanta with my partner. Yet, rest assured, we maintain our personal space, so no toothbrush-sharing scenarios here – a wise boundary indeed!

Love Is Blind: Brazil

Renata and Alexandre, Season 4

Initially, their relationship encountered some rocky moments as Alexandre found Renata’s comments in the pods to be superficial, which, to be honest, was not entirely unjustified given that Renate later made fun of Patrick for being bald after they met in person. However, despite these initial misgivings, their courtship continued and eventually led to them getting married.

Relationship status: Remain united (and non-traditional). At the reunion, Renata and Alexandre affirmed their continued relationship but chose not to define it with conventional labels. They reside in separate homes, spend quality time together, and continue to feature each other on Instagram posts and Reels. Whatever suits them best!

Vanessa and Leonardo, Season 4

For a spell, it seemed like Vanessa had difficulty deciding between Leonardo and Rodrigo. However, upon reaching their honeymoon, things went smoothly and passionately for the two of them, suggesting a deep connection that resonates with fans of LIB Brazil. The authenticity of their relationship is evident, making it understandable why they are admired by many. In time, even Vanessa’s traditional father came to accept their union, further proof of its sincerity.

Marital Status: They are married, as disclosed during their reunion. Their post-wedding dinner at the local burger joint endears them to me further. Judging from their recent social media posts, it appears they continue to be a couple.

Muriel and Kaled, Season 4

Occasionally, LIB creates a narrative that veers from the expected path. For example, Muriel and Kaled developed a connection in their shared pods, only to separate following their face-to-face encounter. He brought back memories of an ex for her, and I can understand why. Fortunately, they managed to reconcile off-camera, rekindling their chemistry and laying the foundation for a fresh start. They didn’t have much on-screen presence, but during the reunion, they affirmed that they were still together and thriving.

Relationship status: Now Married.
At the reunion, Kaled spoke about how Muriel – who stood by him during his discussions on body image in the pods – has continued to encourage him throughout his bariatric surgery process. They had mentioned before that they wanted to get married someday, and indeed, they’ve now officially done so. It’s wonderful when life falls into place as it was meant to.

Maria and Menandro, Season 3

It’s clear that Maria and Mena were created specifically to win our affection. In the annals of LIB, no moment has been as heartwarming as when Maria first met Menandro’s daughter. From its inception, their romance has been effortlessly charming, but even a heated argument stemming from an age-old love triangle seemed poised to disrupt it. However, such a pure love is indestructible.

Current Relation: Married. At the time of our reunion, it was clear they were still an item. Scrolling through their posts, I expected to find plenty of couple snapshots, and indeed, they didn’t disappoint!

Karen and Valmir, Season 3

If only we could shake off this relationship that seemed destined for failure from the very beginning. It wasn’t just his obvious obsession with Maria or her later labeling him as her “runner-up,” despite being the one who proposed. Rather, it was the overall atmosphere surrounding this couple that made every moment they spent together feel so toxic. From the start, fans could see through the mist and each slight seemed more revealing than the last. To be honest, I was ready to end things the moment he called her an “annoyance.” Somehow, they managed to walk down the aisle and say “I do” despite all this.

Previously Married: The brief union of Karen and Valmir ended in just two weeks during the reunion, as they mutually decided to part ways. Karen mentioned that it took only three days for Valmir to ask her to vacate their home, an action I would have expected earlier given similar circumstances. Unfortunately, many had predicted this separation long before it occurred.

Bianca and Jarbas, Season 3

Initially, it’s challenging to think of a more heartwarming couple than Bianca and Jarbas, as they appeared to have a smooth relationship. Their shared love for their kids brought them closer, with the children getting along splendidly with their potential step-parents. However, trouble brewed after a heated argument following the bride-and-groom fittings. On returning home drunk, Jarbas accused Bianca of concealing her real self without warning. In an instant, the picture-perfect facade crumbled.

Relationship status: After getting married, Bianca and Jarbas encountered difficulties. They admitted during the season reunion that they sought couples counseling, and in January 2024, Bianca apparently shared news of their separation. Although her Instagram post is no longer available, the absence of pictures featuring them together suggests they have parted ways.

Daniela and Daniel, Season 3

In harmony beyond just their names, Daniel and Daniela appeared to be perfectly in tune during season three. Their only discord stemmed from Daniel’s fondness for sweets, but if that’s your main source of disagreements, you’re on the right track. Luckily, their dietary difference didn’t create a rift between them; he’s merely reserved his dessert cravings for special moments, such as his birthday, when she would prepare him an indulgent, scrumptious chocolate feast.

Relationship status: Daniel was once married, but they have since parted ways and are now divorced. At the season-three reunion, it appeared they were still together, but later in 2023, they announced their divorce through a touching Instagram post.

Ágata and Renan, Season 3

Following their fairytale romance, I’ve been yearning to find a man who will refer to me as his “one and only.” However, Ana Carolina may have complicated matters when she mentioned being Renan’s first choice – a statement that strikes me as unbelievable. Yet, no amount of deceit or misunderstanding could shatter this destined love affair. And while it’s not the be-all and end-all, let me tell you, they make the most captivating couple I’ve ever laid eyes on!

The pair are currently married, and if they were to divorce, I would step away from the situation. Following a heartfelt wedding on the program, where they expressed their vows and emotional letters, they remarried in 2023 in an even more enchanting ceremony, demonstrating that love can never be too grand.

Alisson and Thamara, Season 2

In season two of “Love Is Blind Brazil”, attorney Thamara caught the eyes of several suitors in the pods, but none compared to Alisson, who spoke candidly about being adopted as a child. During their honeymoons, they seemed to have an idyllic bond… until Thamara disclosed that she had recently ended an eight-year relationship and her ex was still trying to rekindle things, creating quite the dilemma.

Marital Status: The couple got married during season two and have been together ever since. Alisson has moved to Rio de Janeiro to live with Thamara, but their union has faced persistent allegations from Thamara’s former boyfriend, who claims she was unfaithful by appearing on the show. To counter these accusations, Thamara has stated that she will be consulting with her lawyers. In such matters, a lawyer can hardly be outmatched by another lawyer.

Robert and Flávia, Season 2

Following their mutual understanding as single mother peers, Flávia assumed the role of initiator in this charming relationship, proposing to Robert within the pods (which he graciously accepted). Their affection gradually intensified, and they managed to build a tangible bond, meet each other’s families, and even create their own wedding rings.

Previous Marital Status: Divorced.
In the reunion, it was disclosed that the pair separated soon after their wedding, as Flávia found out Robert had been unfaithful to her… despite repeatedly expressing throughout the series his deepest dread of being betrayed in such a manner. Truthfully, one can’t invent tales like this!

Lissio and Luana, Season 1

Initially, Luana and Lissio had a bumpy beginning as Lissio found himself caught between Luana and lawyer Carolina Stamatis in the living quarters. However, once he made his decision to be with Luana, it became relatively smooth sailing for them to embark on their shared journey together. The only grievance Luana expressed was that Lissio tended to be overly eloquent during minor disputes.

Status of relationship: Divorced. Luana and Lissio were the last couple still married when the first season started, but they later announced their divorce in an Instagram video that has since been deleted. They attributed their separation to a personal crisis they experienced privately.

Thiago and Nanda, Season 1

During her time in the pods, Nanda found herself caught between adventurous Thiago and architect Mackdavid. Eventually, she chose Thiago (and even proposed to him!) but their passionate bond, which developed quickly, struggled to survive outside the artificial environment. After quarrels where Thiago referred to women as “the weaker sex,” not even Nanda’s dog took kindly to him.

Marital Status: Divorced. Initially, Thiago and Nanda tied the knot during their finale, but their union didn’t last long. Soon after, Thiago resumed his lively social life (often resulting in being expelled from clubs due to inappropriate bathroom activities). However, an unexpected turn of events unfolded during the reunion show, where Nanda revealed her renewed relationship with Mack. Mack proposed to her at the end of the episode, and in May 2022, they welcomed a son named Ben. So it’s up for debate who came out on top after their separation.

Hudson and Carol, Season 1

Although there was a significant difference in age between them, Carolina and Hudson developed an emotional bond within the pods due to their common affection for their families and mutual understanding of racism. After moving beyond the initial romantic phase, they both passed the ‘friends-and-family’ tests but found themselves at odds regarding their opinions on advocacy and feminism. In a private disagreement, Carolina accused Hudson of being sexist.

Marital Status: Previously Married. They tied the knot at one point but decided to part ways following their reunion, preferring not to disclose the cause of their separation.

Love Is Blind: Japan

Wataru and Midori, Season 1

Initially, it seemed unlikely that Wataru and Midori, with Midori being a cautious business planner about marriage and Wataru, an IT executive who was close to fellow contestant Priya, would end up together. However, they found common ground in their shared ambitions, experiences living in the U.S., and love for dogs. Despite this bond, they encountered additional hurdles: After the reveal, Midori expressed a preference for Wataru having more “refined” features and wondered if marriage was the right path for her.

Marital status: They got married.
In the final episode of ‘Love is Blind: Japan’ season one, Wataru and Midori chose to stay together forever by getting married. Since then, they have been inseparable. And in January 2023, they became parents for the first time, welcoming a beautiful baby girl whom they fondly call Mataru. U.S. couples could learn a thing or two from them!

Ryotaro and Motomi, Season 1

Salesperson Motomi wasn’t seeking a typical marriage; instead, she connected with hairstylist Ryotaro in the pods over shared values and a common affection for chinchillas. Before long, they were writing each other heartfelt letters. To win over Motomi’s father, Ryotaro showed his devotion by changing his dyed blonde tips back to their original black color. That’s what true love looks like.

Relationship status: The couple has been married since their romantic wedding ceremony. Recently, in November 2022, Motomi expressed her anticipation for playdates with Wataru and Midori’s kids, hinting at the strong bond they share. We can’t wait to see this beautiful family journey unfold!

Love Is Blind: Mexico

Francesca and Willy, Season 1

The issue with falling for someone without initially meeting is that sometimes, when you finally meet, you find out that you have fundamental differences. This is exactly what happened to Francesca and Willy, who had an adorable pod friendship that soon turned into constant arguments. They disagreed on financial matters, gender roles, living arrangements, among other things. He found it challenging to express his feelings, while she had difficulty holding back her emotions, especially when under the influence of wine. Love can be blind, but in this case, it led to a series of misunderstandings and arguments.

The problem with falling for someone from behind a wall is that sometimes, when you eventually meet, you find out you have significant disagreements. This was the unfortunate situation between Francesca and Willy, who started as friendly podmates but soon found themselves locked in arguments about various topics. They couldn’t agree on money management, gender roles, living arrangements, and more. He struggled to articulate his feelings, while she often spoke her mind too loudly when under the influence of wine. Love can be blind, but theirs seemed to lead to nothing but disputes.)

As a movie reviewer looking back on this tumultuous love story, I can confidently say that the couple’s relationship status is “On an indefinite hiatus.” Their frequent disagreements and Willy’s multiple attempts to end things suggest a rocky road ahead. The climax of their tale unfolded at the altar, where they mutually decided not to tie the knot.

At the reunion, Francesca unleashed a scathing critique on Willy, returning his family heirloom – the necklace he had gifted her – because, in her words, it had lost its sentimental value. This stinging parting gesture left me feeling a pang of sympathy for both parties. Clearly, they still have some emotional baggage to unpack before they can even consider taking their relationship to the next level.

Silvi and Chema, Season 1

Despite the fact that most people didn’t seem to have faith in this couple, I must confess that I was secretly hoping they would succeed! Silvi, a voluptuous model, appeared to be an ideal fit for Chema, a professional poker player known for his large ego. Their lively personalities meshed both within the confines of their relationship and beyond, and they found common ground in losing their fathers at a young age. However, many of their co-stars had doubts about whether Silvi could keep Chema’s interest over the long term, and his thoughtless remark during her birthday party, where he expressed displeasure with her appearance, certainly didn’t help alleviate those concerns.

Relationship status: The couple has split up after a disagreement arising from Chema’s personal matters. During their wedding ceremony, instead of exchanging vows, they both fled the altar, laughing like school kids and promising to chart their own course. However, when it came time for reconciliation, they found themselves apart. Chema did express regret over his insensitive comment about her birthday outfit, though.

Karen and Fernando, Season 1

In several aspects, Fernando and Karen resemble Amber and Barnett within the context of LIB Mexico. For instance, Fernando found himself in a romantic tangle involving both Iraís and another contestant, Rocio, which initially made it a love quadrangle. Additionally, Karen’s boisterous character created friction with some participants, notably Iraís. However, similar to Amber and Barnett, their relationship developed into a strong bond despite the conflicts they faced, particularly when Fernando shared a bracelet with Karen’s dear daughter, Emi. This gesture underscored the authenticity and depth of their connection.

Relationship status: Karen, Fernando, and Emi are now an officially recognized family, having tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony where they all said their vows. Since then, they’ve been enjoying a harmonious family life, as evident during their reunion and frequently shared on Instagram.

Iraís and René, Season 1

If Karen and Fernando are this season’s Amber and Barnett, then Iraís and René would be its Jessica and Mark. In fact, the comparison seems quite fitting. When Iraís got engaged to René, it seemed more like a fallback option, and initially, she wasn’t impressed, calling him “drunk” upon their first encounter. It didn’t start off well! Despite smoothing things over later on, some of their fellow contestants (and fans) found it hard to accept their relationship at first.

Relationship status: On a break.
Ira’s sister made the wedding memorable by quizzing her about everything from René’s birthdate to his blood type. Sadly, all that preparation was in vain. René declined at the altar because he wasn’t ready, and although they decided to continue dating, they admitted during their reunion that they couldn’t sustain the relationship due to long-distance issues.

Love Is Blind: U.K.

Jasmine and Bobby, Season 1

During the season, it was simple to overlook Jasmine and Bobby due to one factor: Their relationship seemed free from issues. If Jasmine could endure the embarrassment of Bobby’s “Dancer’s Body” music video, these two could weather any storm. Marissa, their mother, challenged their bond with an extremely awkward and almost hostile first encounter, but they eventually reconciled and set some boundaries – a relief indeed.

Relationship Status: Bobby and Jasmine are married now. Despite some initial concerns about her mother, they tied the knot at their wedding and reportedly made up during the reunion. They’ve shared with Tudum that they aspire to start a family soon. To put it simply, their future child is expected to be quite good-looking, and if Jasmine’s social media posts are any indication, they’ll have a top-notch skincare routine from the very beginning.

Demi and Ollie, Season 1

Initially, it appeared that nobody thought this “athletic” girl would end up with a sportsman like Ollie in the long run, but they had a strong connection! Their interactions were witty, and despite the fact that they both faced challenges – Demi with her self-confidence and Ollie with his ADHD – they consistently tried to make their relationship work. However, they also experienced turbulence; comments from other contestants affected Ollie during their honeymoon, and Demi’s cheerful disposition began to fade over time as well. As they approached their wedding ceremony, it felt like the outcome was hanging by a thread.

Current Relationship Status: They have broken up.

In a shocking turn of events, contrary to expectations that he would reject her, Demi declined Ollie at the altar. Even though she responded “I don’t for now,” Ollie felt a sense of relief when she expressed her desire to continue dating. However, as time passed and the reunion arrived, they had parted ways.

The positive aspect was that Ollie continued to defend Demi against body-shaming comments. He publicly declared, “Anyone who knows me, anyone who is familiar with my dating history, knows that I’ve always dated women who look like Demi.” And so, the matter was settled!

Catherine and Freddie, Season 1

It’s surprising how this series has made many viewers develop an unexpected fascination for the funeral director, Freddie. He certainly manages to make mortuary work seem appealing! Unlike other characters on LIB, he even had a well-maintained, decorated home to add to his charm. However, Cat, his “Jersey girl,” quickly turned against him. The moment he confessed his past infidelity, she became cold. Suddenly, his humor was no longer endearing but irritating. She wanted him to go shopping with her, but found his comments about the items annoying. She admired his house, yet couldn’t seem to stop criticizing something he said every few seconds. The camera, which often doesn’t flatter anyone, became a magnifying glass for their relationship, highlighting Cat’s every sharp remark.

Relationship status: Split apart. The wait for this wedding was nerve-wracking. As expected, at the altar, Cat said “I do”, but Freddie didn’t follow suit. During their subsequent gathering, both demonstrated good sportsmanship. Notably, Cat shed tears over a compilation of her own crying moments, and she even returned the earrings that Freddie had given her – showing maturity and grace, especially considering she wasn’t infuriated by her ex-fiancé’s actions at the time.

Sabrina and Steven, Season 1

Sabrina and Steven were simply enchanting within their pods. Sharing a passion for mindfulness, engaging in profound discussions, exchanging witty remarks – it seemed like destiny had brought together the lass from Belfast and the chap from London. Their honeymoon only sweetened the deal as Sabrina playfully joked about Steven’s speedos, and their happiness multiplied when they settled into their shared abode. However, even in this idyllic setting, faint signs of tension emerged. While she praised his eagerness to relocate to Belfast, he insisted on residing in London for a few years first. This slight incongruity was easy to overlook but unmistakable as well.

Status: Previously Married (Very Briefly)

Sabrina and Steven were one of those rare couples who exchanged vows in the UK, but as they revealed at their reunion, their marriage barely lasted four months. Since then, their stories have taken drastically different paths. She asserted that she went out of her way to make compromises, traveled to London frequently, and even mentioned an unpaid £70 grocery bill. He countered by saying it was all lies without providing further details. What started as a romantic tale quickly turned into a drama, yet they managed to avoid a full-blown reality TV scandal like Jerry Springer. In the U.S., we might have witnessed a physical altercation instead.

Nicole and Benaiah, Season 1

From quite a distance, you could detect the crisp aroma of granola energy bars on these two individuals, making it no surprise that they eventually crossed paths in their pods – love may be blind, but it can certainly sense compatibility. However, Benaiah’s nomadic lifestyle gave Nicole some apprehension because she doubted his ability to settle down. Unfortunately for Ben, his reluctance to express his emotions led to a major misstep when Nicole picked the incredibly irritating “Sam from London” as her fiancé, only to regret it moments later. In the end, things didn’t work out with Sam, and Nicole reunited with Ben – but not without some tense exchanges at a social gathering.

Relationship status update: Nicole and Benaiah have made it official; after a rocky beginning and an uncomfortable encounter with Sam, they’ve now become husband and wife. At the recent reunion, they confirmed that their bond remains strong, as their social media posts suggest no changes in their relationship status.

Maria and Tom, Season 1

In rare instances, you don’t usually witness authentic, indisputable passion in their interactions, but Maria and Tom exuded a palpable energy, making their discussions feel electrifying enough to warrant a breeze to cool down. Their moment of ultimate flair, when Maria left her bold lipstick marks on Tom’s face, will be remembered as the Most Memorable Unveiling. However, as their values began to clash—most notably regarding gender roles—these differences became a source of tension between them. Although Maria upholds traditional beliefs about gender roles, she refutes the idea that she expects Tom to shoulder all financial responsibilities.

Status of our relationship: Separated.
The breakup was tough, particularly during our reunion. Tom refused to marry at the altar, and Maria was enraged upon learning his comments about wanting a wife and daughters who could “contribute.” On stage at the reunion, Tom had to apologize for what amounted to an insult towards her family. And to add salt to the wound, they’d prepared that delightful meal for him!

Love Is Blind: Sweden

Krisse-ly and Rasmus, Season 1

Rasmus sometimes seemed superficial in the pods, but he and Krisse-ly managed to uncover a sincere connection that sustained them throughout the season. This was particularly impressive given their disagreements about dog training. It just goes to show that genuine relationships can endure differences in upbringing methods! In the end, Rasmus acknowledged and admired Krisse-ly’s tough past and cherished the kindness she brought to their relationship, despite momentarily calling her “Kimberly” during their big reveal.

Relationship status: These two tied the knot. Their ‘I do’ moment didn’t come with a hitch, and by June 2024, they joyfully shared that a new addition was on its way – a piece of news as delightful as premium Swiss chocolate!

Emilia and Lucas, Season 1

In the pods, this couple seemed compatible, but once they met in person, their connection faded quickly. It was evident that Lucas didn’t find Emilia physically appealing, which left her trying various tactics to win his affection, only for him to rebuff her advances. Exhausted by his indifference and feeling insecure, she eventually withdrew. To make matters worse, it appeared that Lucas had a stronger attraction towards his former pod-mate Karolina, who had given him personal items before their relationship ended.

Status of Relationship: They have parted ways. Despite Lucas expressing cordial sentiments towards Emilia in public, he chose not to marry her because their connection lacked the necessary spark. Post-show, they attempted to rekindle their relationship but managed less than a month before calling it quits. Here’s hoping for better prospects in the future!

Amanda and Sergio, Season 1

It’s often observed that when a LIB couple strengthens their bond through shared faith, there’s a possibility they might encounter secret-baby complications. For instance, prior to Tyler Francis, there was Sergio, who faced allegations of fathering a child in Barcelona, an issue that never seemed to be definitively addressed. Even before this, some comments he made raised doubts about his intentions; for example, when he promised exclusivity to Amanda but continued seeing other women, or when he expressed uncertainty about being attracted to her due to her scoliosis as a child. Is love color-blind, or does it prefer partners who have never had any curvature in their spines?

Amanda and Sergio tied the knot: Amanda and Sergio faced every challenge together and eventually exchanged vows – since then, they’ve become parents to a son named Ralf. Here’s hoping they organize playdates with Rasmus and Krisse sometime soon.

Oskar and Meira, Season 1

In the captivating film LIB, I found the most intriguing dynamics unfolding between characters who, at first glance, seem like oil and water. The relationship between Oskar, an outgoing white man, and Meira, whose personality is more introverted, is a perfect example of this intrigue. Their connection initially thrived on the classic “opposites attract” narrative, yet it often faltered when Oskar struggled to comprehend Meira’s requirement for solitude.

What surprised me was how much Meira’s family adored Oskar, which eliminated her primary reason for contemplating a hasty exit from their relationship. However, the question remains: did they ultimately survive the test of time?

Relationship status: Married. Indeed, at their reunion, Oscar and Miriam made it clear that despite some challenges along the way, they remain deeply in love. In fact, their affection for each other was so strong that they decided to have another wedding in the summer of 2024. At first, there were doubts about their relationship from both parties involved and the viewers, but Oscar had faith in it from the beginning. As it turns out, his confidence paid off, especially when combined with his caring charm.

Love Is Blind: Habibi

Safa and Mohammed, Season 1

As a passionate film enthusiast, I’d rephrase it like this: In our love story, rather than pondering if love is blind, we grappled with the question of whether love could endure a lengthy commute. Aware that my long-term companion, Safa, would need to travel to Iraq weekly, Mohammed and I accepted the challenge head-on. Despite the strain caused by his parents’ inability to visit from Jordan, our bond only grew stronger throughout the season, making us the standout couple of the narrative.

Relationship status: These two are currently married. Based on their continued union at the altar and the reunion, it’s clear they’ve been traveling together quite a bit (metaphorically speaking). Although Safa might seem calm at the reunion, they still seem to be contentedly married.

Asma and Khatab, Season 1

Occasionally, separated couples may reconcile and grow stronger than before, or a revealing moment can signal further heartbreak ahead. Initially, it was uncertain where Asma and Khatab would fall in this category. Asma maintained that her anxiety following the reveal had no connection to his appearance, and for a time, they appeared to reach balance. However, her sister’s support couldn’t alleviate Asma’s struggle with her parents’ refusal to attend their wedding, which cast a shadow over the event as it approached.

Relationship status: They parted ways. After a disagreement at the altar, Asma and Khatab chose to explore a more conventional relationship outside marriage. Regrettably, they split up before reconvening, concluding it was necessary; after two months, their disparities and work-related pressures proved overwhelming and couldn’t be reconciled.

Dounia and Chafic, Season 1

The youngest pairing of the season faced numerous issues: Her relationship with her mother was excessively close, resulting in limited personal boundaries and minimal real-life experience. Additionally, he exhibited behavior reminiscent of a commitment-phobe throughout the series, such as instigating conflicts, like when he quarreled with Simo at the cocktail party over his Instagram messages with Nour. Furthermore, Chafic made it a point to mention that Dounia is not typically his preferred type and implied she’s the kind of girl his mother would appreciate – a comment that seems out of place given her appeal!

Current Relationship Status: Dounia and Chafic are engaged, although there have been rumors of a split more recently. However, neither party has confirmed or denied these speculations publicly.

Love Is Blind: Argentina

Julieta and Ezequiel, Season 1

This season, Julieta was known as the popular girl. Despite avoiding most of the season’s drama along with Ezequiel, they encountered challenges unique to them. The main source of friction between them was Julieta’s difficulty expressing affection, causing Ezequiel to feel uncertain. It seemed that both Julieta and the experiment were pushing their boundaries, as was Ezequiel’s demand for a reasonable amount of validation.

Relationship status: Previously Married, Currently Single and Ready to Mingle

Jezequiel brought joy to fans with his wedding, but at their reunion, they admitted that they had parted ways. Although they exchanged marriage vows, they never shared a home, and over the years, their bond weakened. However, they continue to maintain a strong connection, with Julieta still reaching out to Jezequiel for updates, whether good or bad. Now that he’s single again, Jezequiel is open to finding someone who shares his enthusiasm for cozy moments.

Emily and Santiago, Season 1

At the beginning of their time in the pods, Santiago shared with Emily that he had heard her name in a dream. This, coupled with their natural affinity for each other, quickly propelled them out of the pods and into their honeymoon phase. However, not everything was smooth sailing. A heated disagreement arose between them just prior to their wedding, stemming from Santiago’s frustration with Emily’s sense of humor. Despite the dream suggesting an inevitable connection, their personalities sometimes clashed.

Marital Status: Formerly Married (Due to separation after their televised wedding, and allegations of domestic violence by Emily against Santiago)

María and Mauricio, Season 1

To put it straightforwardly, I’d admit that Mauricio was quite a challenge throughout LIB‘s chronicles. He seemed to spend an inordinate amount of time voicing his concerns about his fiancée to anyone who cared to listen, and the rest of his time lounging nude by the pool, seemingly expecting admiration. Unsurprisingly, he expressed that María didn’t fit his “type,” but this was likely due to his self-absorbed nature and manipulative tendencies, traits which María, being too astute and self-assured, wisely avoided. It may seem illogical, but against all expectations and instincts urging us to toss men like Mauricio out a window, they managed to reach the altar together.

Relationship status: They have split up.
Thank goodness María decided against marrying this man. Shortly after he said “I do,” she informed him that their time together had left her feeling “overwhelmed, puzzled, sad, and slightly agitated” – and in truth, she was doing him a kindness by ending things there.

Florencia and José Luis, Season 1

Ah, these two lovebirds! Let’s see where to start… Their romantic journey was quite a mystery to all, considering they had both been involved with others in the pods earlier. They found solace in each other following unsuccessful attempts at engagement, hoping for genuine love amidst more screen time. José, smitten by Julieta, even penned a heartfelt poem for her, while Florencia pursued Tom until he popped the question to Florfi. Over the course of time, Florencia and José’s relationship seemed to deepen – particularly as José learned to cope with sharing his life with her four feline companions. One doesn’t agree to that much cat fur unless it’s true love.

Relationship status: These two individuals have decided to commit to each other in matrimony, and they’ve been maintaining their bond ever since. His social media is filled with her, and a significant detail – her cats are featured on his feed as well.

Love Is Blind: Germany

Alina and Ilias, Season 1

Ilias and Alina appeared to connect through their shared interest in spirituality; however, there was a brief moment when it seemed like his wandering gaze could potentially cause a rift between them. In the private chambers, he admitted to past infidelities, which although Alina is not of the opinion “once a cheater, always a cheater,” Ilias put her trust to the test by giving extra attention to his ex, Hanni. Simultaneously, his bond with Alina appeared to reach a standstill – causing some to fear that this Gemini might fulfill negative stereotypes and act deceitfully. (No offense, Gems!)

Relationship status: After initial doubts from Alina about Ilias’ commitment, they got married on the show and are still together today. However, things weren’t so straightforward as Alina herself admitted to flirting with Hanni’s help as a “test”. During the reunion, Alina claimed that she had initiated the flirtation without Hanni’s knowledge, which left Hanni in an awkward position. Despite this, Alina later took Ilias’ last name, suggesting a deeper commitment to their relationship. While it’s great for them, some might argue that they didn’t treat Hanni fairly.

Sally and Medina, Season 1

It became clear that everything fit perfectly for Sally and Medina within the pods, and when they both unexpectedly exchanged presents with the same Bible verse, Psalm 27, it was almost inevitable that they would get engaged. Regrettably, their in-person unveiling turned sour; Medina couldn’t stop laughing, making Sally feel insecure. She decided to exit the experiment prematurely, but later, the two reconnected and returned to the show during the cohabitation phase – demonstrating that sometimes, a bit of faith is all you need.

Status of their relationship: They’ve parted ways amicably, with no lingering animosity. Despite discussions about marriage, they opted not to proceed down that path. During a recent meeting, Sally admitted she would have accepted his proposal if he had done so initially. Following their wedding, they briefly dated post-nuptials but ultimately decided to maintain a friendship after the split.

Hanni and Daniel, Season 1

During the reunion, Hanni faced a good deal of criticism, yet her affection for Daniel appeared sincere throughout the series. To her, Daniel’s ability to make her laugh was priceless, as she herself put it. However, the words were not hers but someone else’s. Yes, there were instances where she seemed interested in Ilias from her pod, but the reasons behind this action can vary depending on who you ask – either Hanni or Alina. The main obstacle in Hanni and Daniel’s relationship stemmed from the emotional barriers she had erected due to past betrayals. After all, who hasn’t constructed a few protective walls like that?

Relationship status: They’re more than friends but not officially a couple yet.

Daniel was heartbroken when Hanni rejected him at the altar, but during their reunion, he hinted that they were closer than just friends – though not yet an official couple. Their frequent appearances on each other’s social media accounts suggest a strong bond between them, which makes it seem like they might be in a relationship. Given these signs, I personally think they are together, despite any opposition from haters.
