Remedy Entertainment often appears at The Game Awards, so it wasn’t surprising when Sam Lake’s team unveiled details about a new project today. They revealed Control Resonant, the sequel to their acclaimed 2019 action-adventure game.
The official announcement in November 2024 stated that Control Resonant is an action RPG. However, the recent trailer and details released by the developers have revealed some surprises. Instead of Jesse Faden, the protagonist from the original game, players will control her brother, Dylan.
This new game is set seven years after the original Control. Jesse Faden, the protagonist players know, will vanish mysteriously, and the Federal Bureau of Control will lose its ability to contain supernatural threats. Consequently, the game takes place in a distorted and unsettling version of Manhattan.
The new installment is scheduled for release in 2026, and the story will be accessible even if you haven’t experienced the previous one.
