A Beginner’s Guide To MARVEL Cosmic Invasion

Tribute Games has crafted a thrilling beat ’em up called MARVEL Cosmic Invasion, capturing the action, suspense, and excitement of the original comics.

Okay, so as a big fan of these kinds of games, I’ll say this: if you’ve never played a beat ’em up before, or aren’t super familiar with Marvel characters, it might take a little getting used to. These games usually start off pretty simple, but they definitely ramp up the difficulty as you go – things can get intense fast!

MARVEL Cosmic Invasion can be quite challenging. New players might find the difficult boss fights and large groups of enemies a bit overwhelming.

If you’re just getting into Marvel comics, or you’d like a little guidance, you’re in the right place! I’ll share some quick tips to help you understand everything and become a universe-saving superhero – capable of defeating Annihilus and more.

Use The Block Button Wisely

During fights, you’ll find some enemies are easy to keep stunned, preventing them from attacking. Others, though, will fight back even while stunned, so be careful!

While blocking can protect you and lessen harm, it’s most effective when used to deflect attacks. This turns a simple defense into an opportunity to counterattack and punish your opponent.

If you can activate this ability just as an enemy attacks, you’ll see a special visual effect and briefly stun them. This timing is really important for winning some of the tougher boss fights.

Unlock The Hidden Characters When You Can

The game mostly guides you through levels in a set order, but occasionally you’ll have a choice of which path to take.

When you have the chance, focus on completing levels that reward you with new characters. You’ll need to play these levels eventually anyway, and the characters you unlock are among the strongest in the game.

The Blue Area of the Moon, Destromundo, Hala, and Fort Galactus levels all have special characters you can unlock. I highly recommend playing these levels as soon as you can – the unlockable characters are all really great!

Be Patient In Large Waves

MARVEL Cosmic Invasion starts off easy, but the difficulty jumps up noticeably in certain areas as you progress. New players might find it a little challenging at first.

Okay, so when things get crazy, I always try to remind myself to just breathe. It helps to remember that, hey, I’m basically a superhero! I mean, I have superpowers, so I should definitely be using them to get through whatever’s happening, right?

Landing regular attacks fills a blue meter below your health. Once it’s full, you can perform a powerful special attack by pressing the right bumper.

These moves can quickly turn the tide in chaotic situations, often by eliminating everything on the screen and giving you a fresh start.

Pick A Complimentary Duo

When choosing heroes for a fight, keep in mind that some work better together. It’s not ideal to have too many of the same type – for example, a team of all close-combat fighters won’t be effective against all kinds of opponents, as you’ll need different approaches to win.

Having a character who can fly is a big plus. Think heroes like Iron Man, Phoenix, or Silver Surfer. While teaming up flying characters can work, it’s best to make sure your team has a variety of abilities.

Characters who can fly often make a strong team with close-combat fighters, which is why Iron Man and She-Hulk work so well together. On the other hand, long-range fighters like Captain America are a good match for a powerful close-combat fighter like She-Hulk.

Whatever two characters you choose, keep in mind that having a variety of abilities is a big benefit. It’s best to pair characters who offer different strengths and skills.
