Many Netflix viewers who checked for the final episodes of Squid Game: The Challenge Season 2 today were surprised to find they weren’t immediately available. This isn’t a mistake – the release was intentionally delayed by a short time.
Similar to the original Squid Game, the new reality show pits 456 players against each other in challenging games inspired by childhood favorites. The competition has already been full of surprises – from players rebelling during a mingling challenge, to an intense and emotional game of catch, and even tears shed during Snakes and Ladders.
When a prize of $4.56 million is at stake, you can expect some intense competition! Mai Whelan won the big prize in the first season, and we’ll soon see which of the five players left will be the next winner.
We can guess who might win, but the results of Squid Game: The Challenge Season 2 Episode 9 will be the only true answer. When will the episode be available to watch?
Squid Game: The Challenge Season 2 finale release date & time
The last episode of Squid Game: The Challenge Season 2 will be available on Netflix starting Tuesday, November 18th, at 6 PM Pacific Time or 9 PM Eastern Time.
Release times can differ based on your location, so check when it becomes available in your area.
- 11pm Brazil – November 18
- 2am UK – November 19
- 4am CEST – November 19
- 7:30am India Standard Time – November 19
- 1pm Australia – November 19
- 3pm New Zealand – November 19
Why is Episode 9 delayed?

The issue isn’t a technical one. We’re doing this simply to allow viewers in the US to watch the finale live, just like we did with Season 1 of Squid Game: The Challenge.
Netflix usually releases new shows at midnight Pacific Time / 3am Eastern Time. However, because the finale is a huge event, they’ve broken with their usual schedule. This allows more people to watch it at a convenient time and avoid seeing spoilers. As Netflix put it in the trailer, they want everyone to “Watch together.”
This means fans outside of that time zone will need to either watch late at night, wake up early, or turn off notifications to avoid spoilers until they’ve seen Episode 9.
Who are the finalists?

Unlike Season 1’s three finalists, there are five players heading into the finale. They include:
- Player 302 (Dajah)
- Player 183 (Steven)
- Player 398 (Trinity)
- Player 17 (Agnes)
- Player 72 (Perla)
The preview for Episode 9 shows that not everyone will reach the final round of the competition. During a dinner where the contestants are dressed in tuxedos, they’ll face a new challenge that resembles, but isn’t exactly the same as, the final test from Season 1.
The preview hints that one player will be eliminated, narrowing the competition down to the final four who will compete in the last challenge. Plus, the creepy Red Light, Green Light doll is coming back!
While we wait for more news, I’ve been checking out all the Squid Game challenges – I even ranked them from easiest to hardest! I’m also trying to figure out if that Squid Game: The Challenge show is real or if it’s all staged. Plus, I’m keeping an eye on everything new Netflix is dropping this month, so I don’t miss anything good.
