Someone stole around $10,000 worth of Pokémon cards from a store owned by Tom Brady in New York City, and the thief still hasn’t been found.
Trading cards have become incredibly popular again recently. Prices for Pokémon cards, sports cards, and other collectibles have increased dramatically, attracting interest from celebrities and business leaders.
Tom Brady, the legendary quarterback with six Super Bowl wins, has also been actively involved in collecting his own trading cards. He’s invested significant amounts of money in his rookie cards and has even signed extremely rare and valuable cards along the way.
He recently invested in CardVault, a chain of nine collectible card shops across the US. Because they specialize in valuable, high-end cards, they’ve unfortunately become a target for theft.
Tom Brady card shop has $10k worth of cards stolen
The NYPD reported that a shop in Soho, New York, was robbed on October 20th, and collectible cards worth approximately $9,700 were stolen.
Police say the man convinced employees he’d paid for the items, but his payment was actually refused. He then secretly entered information into the payment machine to override the rejection and make it appear as if the transaction went through.
Police are looking for a suspect wanted for stealing a large amount of property and have released photos to help the public with the search.
Just twelve days after opening its doors in SoHo, CardVault, the store owned by Tom Brady, was robbed. A thief managed to get around the store’s card system and stole around $10,000 worth of baseball and Pokémon cards back in October. The NYPD is currently investigating the incident, and CardVault has stated they are fully cooperating.

According to ABC News, Tom Brady bought half of CardVault in February 2025. The company’s New York City location had recently opened before the robbery occurred.
Over the past few years, Pokémon cards have become a frequent target for thieves, with stores worldwide reporting thefts of their most valuable cards. Depending on condition, a single card can be worth a significant amount of money—sometimes tens of thousands of dollars.
The specific cards that were stolen have not been mentioned by the police.
