The popular game Red Dead Redemption is receiving a significant upgrade for modern platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, mobile devices, and even a version for Netflix. The fan-favorite expansion, Undead Nightmare, will also be included.
Just weeks after announcing a delay for Grand Theft Auto 6, Rockstar Games revealed that an enhanced version of Red Dead Redemption would be released soon.
Developed with Double Eleven and Cast Iron Games, Red Dead will be available on Android and iOS for the first time. Best of all, Netflix subscribers can download and play the game at no extra cost as part of their membership.
Rockstar announced that these updated versions include the full story modes of both games, plus extra content originally released in the Game of the Year Editions.
The new console offers a smoother experience with gameplay at 60 frames per second, improved graphics, and support for High Dynamic Range (HDR). Players will also be able to use a mouse with the device.
If you already have the game on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, or Xbox One, Rockstar is offering a free upgrade to the new version when it launches on December 2nd.
The news arrives as fans are still disappointed about the recent pushback of GTA 6’s release date, moving it from May 2026 to November. Rockstar explains the delay will allow them extra time to complete the game to the high standard players anticipate.
Recent reports suggest Rockstar is using the additional development time to thoroughly test GTA VI and avoid releasing a buggy game, similar to the issues seen with Cyberpunk 2077.
