It seemed like 2025 might pass without a new TV series from Kurt Sutter, the creator of Sons of Anarchy, but don’t worry! His latest project, The Abandons, is coming to Netflix in December, bringing his signature gritty style to a western setting. And even better, Jason Momoa, a big motorcycle fan, is joining forces with Sutter for a completely new show!
Jason Momoa, fresh off his lead role in the miniseries Chief of War, is set to star in a new Apple TV+ series called Nomad. The show comes from Kurt Sutter and Chris Collins, who previously worked together on Sons of Anarchy, The Wire, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and The Man in the High Castle. Collins also helped write John Wick: Chapter 3, demonstrating his skill with both epic stories and thrilling action.

This setup seems perfect for the new series. According to Deadline, Nomad will be set in the dangerous criminal world of New Zealand, with Jason Momoa reportedly playing a warrior forced to choose between two families as he discovers his fate. It sounds like a truly epic story.
Kurt Sutter and Chris Collins co-wrote the pilot episode and will both be executive producers on the new series. Collins will also be the showrunner. Jason Momoa and Brian Mendoza, through their production company On the Roam, will join as executive producers as well.

Many fans are hoping Charlie Hunnam, known for his role in Sons of Anarchy, will join this new show. While it made sense he didn’t return for Mayans M.C., and he might not want to do another motorcycle drama after that series, it’s still fun to imagine! However, he’s currently filming the fourth season of Monster, so his schedule might not allow for any new commitments right now.
