Okay, so Koei Tecmo just dropped the news about a massive DLC for Dynasty Warriors: Origins! It’s called ‘Visions of Four Heroes,’ and it’s coming out on January 22, 2026, on all platforms. The best part? Pre-orders are live right now, so I can snag it and get ready to jump back in!
The new downloadable content (DLC) costs $34.99 and is available for pre-order now. It will be released on the same day as the Nintendo Switch 2 game. If you pre-order, you’ll also receive the “Yellow Turban Attire” costume for your character. Dynasty Warriors: Origins was previously released earlier this year on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. You can read a review from Josh here.

Here are the English and Japanese trailers for Dynasty Warriors: Origins Visions of Four Heroes, along with details from Koei Tecmo and some new screenshots.
Koei Tecmo and Omega Force have announced plans for a major expansion to their popular game, Dynasty Warriors: Origins. Called “Visions of Four Heroes,” this downloadable content will add new storylines and weapons to the game’s already intense battles. It’s set to launch on January 22, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam.
Okay, so I’m really excited about the new ‘Visions of Four Heroes’ DLC for Dynasty Warriors: Origins! It’s going to let me play through totally new stories focusing on Zhang Jiao, Dong Zhuo, Yuan Shao, and Lu Bu – basically ‘what if’ scenarios for these characters, which is awesome. They’re even adding new characters to fight alongside, including Zhuhe, Diaochan (she’s a classic!), and a mysterious new officer we’ll meet as we play.
And the combat is getting a shake-up too! We’re getting new weapons – a bow and a rope dart – which should make those huge battles even more fun. They’re also updating all the existing weapons with new moves and skills, and raising the level cap. Plus, there’s a new ‘Training Ground’ mode where I can hone my skills against some tough opponents.
If I pre-order, I’ll also get a cool Yellow Turban outfit for my character, which is a nice bonus.
The base game, Dynasty Warriors: Origins, is already out on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and this DLC is launching alongside the Switch 2 on January 22, 2026. It’ll have both English and Japanese voice acting, and text in a bunch of languages including English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish.
