Cozy on the surface, deadly beneath. Grave Seasons is a farming sim with a body count

Farming simulators have evolved beyond simple, relaxing gameplay. While games like Stardew Valley include some mystery, and the upcoming Haunted Chocolatier seems to emphasize it even more, titles such as Bloomtown and Grimshare are already exploring darker themes. However, Grave Seasons appears to be taking that eerie atmosphere to a whole new level.

Don’t forget to water the… corpses

Grave Seasons isn‘t just about farming, fishing, and building a life for yourself. It’s a horror game centered around the mystery of who will be the next victim. You play as a recently released prisoner who arrives in the town of Ashenridge seeking a new beginning, but quickly discovers that the town isn’t as peaceful as it appears – a supernatural serial killer is also on the loose.

We’ll need to get to know the people in town, build relationships with them, and maybe even find love—perhaps with someone who’s hiding a dark secret. Every decision we make will have an impact, and our actions will determine the outcome. Plus, the skills we develop through farming and crafting won’t just be for fun—they’ll be crucial for solving the mystery and surviving the supernatural events.

I’m really excited because it looks like we can actually prevent people from dying next time, and the cool thing is, different killers will lead to totally different stories each time you play. That means a ton of replayability – I’ll definitely be playing this one more than once!

The game Grave Seasons is scheduled for release in 2026. You can add it to your Steam wishlist now and follow the developers on X (formerly Twitter) for the latest updates. It will also be available on Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch.

Perfect Garbage, the studio that created this new game, previously made Love Shore. Though Love Shore received mixed reviews on Steam – many players felt it was too short – they generally enjoyed its characters, story, and world. Their new game, Grave Seasons, appears to be a much more substantial experience, with more gameplay features and things to do.
