Okay gamers, PlayStation just announced a new State of Play! This one’s all about games coming out of Japan and Asia, which is awesome. It’s happening tomorrow, Tuesday, November 11th, at 2 PM Pacific Time (that’s 5 PM Eastern, and 11 PM in Europe). You can watch it all go down on the PlayStation YouTube channel – they already have the stream page up. Heads up, though, it doesn’t sound like we’ll be hearing much about games from American studios like Insomniac or Santa Monica this time, but honestly, there’s still a ton to be hyped about!
PlayStation State of Play scheduled for tomorrow, here’s what to expect
PlayStation’s State of Play broadcast is scheduled for over 40 minutes, according to a recent post on the PlayStation Blog. The show will be hosted by voice actor Yuki Kaji and promises a lot of exciting content, including new game reveals, interviews, and fresh looks at games people are already looking forward to. What games do you think will be featured?
It’s almost certain we’ll see several announcements from Capcom. They have multiple games in development, including Resident Evil Requiem (early next year), and Pragmata and Onimusha: Way of the Sword (both expected in 2026), so we can definitely anticipate hearing updates on at least some of these projects. Another exciting possibility is a first glimpse at an expansion for Monster Hunter Wilds. The original game was incredibly popular earlier this year, and now would be a great time to build on that success and remind everyone about the latest installment in the Monster Hunter series.
This event is a good chance to learn more about Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls from Arc System Works. Following the playtest last September, it would be great to get an update on the game – perhaps with announcements of new characters.
The Game Awards, a major gaming event, are only a month away, so it’ll be interesting to see if any companies reveal new game trailers or updates before then, instead of waiting for the event. There’s a small possibility we might hear something from Square Enix, especially since the director of Final Fantasy VII Remake has been hinting at the third game in the series. Considering the first two games were PlayStation exclusives, an announcement could come tomorrow. However, a reveal at The Game Awards itself seems more probable.
There’s a good chance FromSoftware will be at this event. Recent rumors suggest a new Elden Ring expansion called Nightreign, and an announcement could happen tomorrow, with the DLC possibly releasing the same day as the Game Awards. This would make sense, as it would generate excitement for potential nominations and keep players engaged. And, fans shouldn’t give up on the possibility of a Bloodborne remaster either.
Besides these highlights, a few other games are worth mentioning. We might get a deeper look at Tides of Annihilation, the impressive action-adventure game first shown at State of Play. More levels for Astro Bot are always welcome, and we’re hoping to finally find out when Phantom Blade Zero, a tough but rewarding action game, will be released. Also, with the game being set in Japan, we could hear more about the Ghost of Yotei: Legends DLC soon.
As a PlayStation fan, I’m really excited about the upcoming showcase! The only real clue they’ve given us so far is a line mentioning “beloved series and distinctive indie creations.” And with the showcase being over 40 minutes long, it sounds like we’re in for a lot of awesome reveals!
