Arc Raiders – All Enemies And How To Kill Them

Although player-versus-player combat can be risky in extraction shooters, Arc Raiders presents a different kind of challenge. You’ll face numerous ARC robots – powerful enemies that can quickly defeat you and send you back to base empty-handed. Here’s a guide to every enemy in Arc Raiders and strategies for taking them down.

Basic enemies

You’ll run into these enemies pretty often, and generally, they’re much less dangerous than their bigger counterparts. They can still put up a fight, but you should be able to defeat them on your own using standard weapons without too much difficulty.

Wasp

Weak Spot: Thrusters

Wasps are the most common enemies in Arc Raiders, and you’ll likely encounter them often while exploring. They can be tricky, especially when they swarm, because their fast-firing weapons quickly drain your health if you’re not protected. Fortunately, almost any weapon can defeat them – just target one of their four thrusters to make them spin out of control and crash.

Hornet

Weak Spot: Rear thrusters

The Hornet is like a stronger, faster Wasp. It attacks with electrical shocks that hurt you and can throw off your balance, making you vulnerable. The best way to defeat it is to find good cover, crouch, and shoot out the two exposed thrusters on its rear – the front ones are heavily shielded. Destroying these back thrusters will cause it to spin out of control and crash.

Snitch

Weak Spot: Underside plating

The Snitch is a scout drone that uses a laser to detect players nearby. It doesn’t attack on its own, but if it spots you, you need to destroy it fast. Otherwise, it will call in reinforcements – two Wasps and a Hornet – making the fight much harder. The fastest way to defeat it is to shoot the armor plates on its belly. Destroying two out of the three sections of this armor is usually enough to take it down.

Fireball

Weak Spot: Core (when open)

The Fireball is a fast, ground-based enemy that relentlessly pursues you and attacks with a powerful flamethrower, quickly draining your health. While strong weapons can destroy it with only a few hits, even as it’s moving, it’s more efficient to use weaker weapons only when its core is exposed. Otherwise, you’ll likely waste ammunition trying to break through its tough outer shell.

Pod

Weak Spot: N/A

The Pop is a fast-moving enemy that chases you down and explodes, dealing heavy damage to your shields and health. They often travel in groups, and a few can quickly eliminate you. Fortunately, they’re quite fragile and can be defeated with just a couple of shots, so good timing and aiming are key to taking them down.

Tick

Weak Spot: N/A

Ticks are small, spider-like creatures found inside buildings that pose a threat in ARC mode. They’re fast and can quickly attach to you, continuously dealing damage until shaken off. While annoying, their speed makes them tricky to hit with ranged weapons. The best way to deal with them is usually to use your Raider Tool (melee weapon) for a quick and silent takedown.

Turret

Weak Spot: N/A

Throughout the upper levels, you’ll encounter turrets. They scan for targets using a blue light that turns red when they’ve locked onto someone. If a turret sees you, it will rapidly fire bullets that quickly deplete your shields and health. The best approach is to sneak up on them and attack from a hidden position. While heavy ammo is fastest, any type of ammunition can destroy these turrets fairly quickly.

Sentinel

Weak Spot: Yellow canister

The Sentinel is a tougher, long-distance version of the regular turret. You’ll usually find it outside, where it can target you from far away with a powerful, shield-piercing shot. It’s best to sneak up on Sentinels and use a weapon with heavy ammo to take them down, as they have a lot of health. Another option is to shoot the yellow canister on its back to increase your damage, but that can be tricky depending on your angle.

Special enemies

ARCs are massive, powerful enemies – think of them as ‘bosses’ – and you won’t face them as often as other foes. They’re tough to defeat and usually require a team or two of players using powerful weapons like launchers (for example, the Hullcracker) to take them down.

Each enemy description will explain how to defeat them using standard methods. However, experienced players with good equipment can quickly defeat most enemies by using grenades. One or two Wolfpack grenades are often enough to take down all but the Queen, and even a few Snap Blast Grenades will severely damage any foe. When you have enough resources, we recommend using grenades to make fights easier.

Leaper

Weak Spots: Face and legs

The Leaper is a powerful enemy known for its incredible jumping ability. It can quickly cover large distances to attack, dealing significant damage, and also has a close-range shockwave attack. The most effective strategy against it is to find a building and use a doorway for protection, preventing it from landing on you. Then, focus your strongest attacks on its legs and head to destroy its armor.

You can slow the Leaper down by damaging its legs, making it less stable. To quickly bring it off balance, have your team focus fire on the same leg. Once it’s wobbling, switch your aim to its head. With accurate shots and a few grenades, you’ll be able to defeat it surprisingly fast.

Rocketeer

Weak Spot: Thrusters

The Rocketeer resembles a larger, more powerful version of the Hornet, but it’s far more threatening. If one of these massive flying machines locks onto you, immediately seek shelter indoors – your survival depends on it. It launches rockets frequently, and a single hit can obliterate both your shield and health. To make matters worse, the rockets explode with a wide area of effect, making it difficult to avoid damage even with a well-timed dodge.

To defeat the Rocketeer, first destroy the armor on its thrusters with powerful weapons like heavy ammo or grenades. Once the inner metal is exposed, focus your fire there. If it’s still flying after you’ve damaged a couple of thrusters, finish it off with heavy or launcher ammo aimed at its body.

A single Wolfpack grenade is enough to destroy a Rocketeer, but make sure it’s by itself first. When destroyed, a Rocketeer breaks apart into twelve smaller, self-guided missiles that will target up to three nearby ARC enemies. To avoid wasting those missiles on weaker drones, take out the Rocketeer in isolation and watch them explode!

Bastion

Weak Spots: Legs and yellow canister on back

The Bastion is a big, crab-shaped enemy that roams open areas on different maps. It attacks with incredibly fast machine gun fire, and can kill you before you have time to react. Because of this, it’s best to only fight the Bastion when you’re safely behind cover. You can easily damage it by circling around large objects or hiding behind corners, attacking between its bursts of gunfire.

To defeat this enemy, target the yellow areas around its leg joints. If you break a leg, it will stumble, giving you and your team a chance to move behind it and shoot the yellow canister on its back. Hitting these weak spots repeatedly will eventually bring it down.

Bombardier

Weak Spot: Legs and yellow canister on back

The Bombardier looks very similar to a Bastion, except for its color, but it’s much more dangerous and harder to deal with. Instead of direct fire, the Bombardier launches mortar attacks, which you’ll need to avoid. Getting hit can cause serious damage, so staying behind cover or dodging quickly is essential. The Bombardier’s accuracy increases if Spotters—enemies that act like informants—locate you. If a Spotter’s yellow laser targets your position, you’ll be in trouble, so prioritize eliminating them immediately.

You can defeat the Bombardier just like the Bastion. First, target its yellow knee joints to knock it over. Then, quickly move behind it and shoot the yellow canister on its back. Keep hitting these weak spots, and you’ll destroy it.

Queen

Weak Spot: Legs and face

The Queen is currently the biggest and toughest ARC (Automated Recon Construct) in the game, and she only appears on maps with a Harvester. This massive robot can quickly destroy groups of players, making her potentially the hardest enemy to defeat – often requiring multiple teams to coordinate an attack. She’ll unleash powerful lasers on exposed players and launch area-of-effect mortar attacks. Get too close, and she can use a ground slam or EMP blast to eliminate you. To make things even harder, she also spawns additional ARCs during the battle, creating a very dangerous encounter.

Okay, so this Queen boss is tough. Like with other big enemies, you really want to focus your fire on her leg joints and face – that’s how you break off her armor and get to the weak spot underneath. Trust me, you need some serious firepower for this fight – think heavy weapons or a Hullcracker, at the very least. Even with those, it’s gonna be a long battle. Honestly, the best strategy I’ve found is to bring a ton of Wolfpack grenades and just unload on her. If you don’t, you’re looking at a seriously drawn-out fight where one mistake can wipe the whole team and send us back to the lobby.
