A Steam page has launched for Farnia Village, a new farming and life simulation game. Interestingly, the game is being developed by people who previously contributed to the popular Rune Factory 3 and Rune Factory 4.
Shinichi Manabe is leading this project. He previously led programming on Rune Factory 3 and directed Rune Factory 4, but now runs ManaGames and is developing this game independently. Joining him is Takanori Tsuji, who wrote the story for both Rune Factory 3 and 4.
I’m super excited to hear that Tomoko Morita, the composer from those older Rune Factory games like Oceans (Tides of Destiny), is back! She’s now with Studio Qareeb, which is awesome. And the character designs are looking fantastic – they’re working with benitama, kannnu, and BOKI simole, all really talented artists.
Manabe launched a Kickstarter campaign for the project and quickly surpassed his initial funding goal of 5 million yen. He’s also planned additional goals to reach if they receive even more support.
The Kickstarter page indicates Farnia Village will initially launch on PC through Steam, with plans to also release it on other PC platforms like DLsite. The team is working to optimize the game for hardware similar to the Nintendo Switch, and they’re considering releasing it on other consoles, though those plans aren’t finalized yet.
Below you’ll find the official images and details for Farnia Village. The game will initially be released in both Japanese and English.
