Though it didn’t reach the same blockbuster numbers as earlier films, it performed well enough to warrant both a spin-off series and a sequel. The follow-up, Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, continued the story in a way that was perfect for younger viewers and received a perfect 100% score from critics.
