Persona 5 X global version 2.3 update set to add new main story chapter and Targeted gacha banners

Sega and Atlus have announced details for the upcoming version 2.3 update for Persona 5: The Phantom X. This update, launching on October 23rd in both Japan and globally, will add a new chapter to the main story and introduce special ‘targeted’ gacha banners.

New gacha banners will guarantee you get the featured 5-star character, but it will take up to 110 pulls to achieve this. The current system, where you have a 50% chance of getting a different 5-star character after 80 pulls, will still be available on “Chance” banners. For this update, only the banners featuring the new character, Kira “Messa” Kitazato, and the returning character, YUI “BUI”, will use this new guaranteed system.

The English patch notes are posted right after the recording of the stream with English subtitles. Persona 5: The Phantom X is now available on PC, Android, and iOS globally. Players on the Southeast Asian server will likely receive the update about a week after everyone else.

Thieves’ Secrets: Messa’s Special Missions will be available until 1:59 AM UTC on November 6, 2025. More information will be released soon.

A special key is now active! Until 1:59 AM UTC on January 8, 2026, players will receive an item that lets them unlock Thieves’ Secrets missions they weren’t able to complete before. This is a great opportunity to experience any Thieves’ Secrets you may have missed.

Log in daily for 7 days between now and November 6th, 2025 (1:59 AM UTC) to earn a total of 7 Platinum Tickets!

We’ve added a new way to draw characters in Most Wanted Phantom Idol Contracts called “Targeted” contracts. The old system is now called “Chance” contracts.

Targeted contracts have a lower chance of getting a 5-star character and require more draws to guarantee one, but all 5-star characters you get will be from the featured Most Wanted Phantom Thieves.

If you do 165 Targeted draws, you’ll also receive a special item: Phantom Thief Chance 01. This item guarantees you’ll get a random 5-star Phantom Thief from the Phantom Idol Draft X pool.
