Next week, Nintendo is adding the classic GameCube game Luigi’s Mansion to its Switch Online + Expansion Pack service. It will be available starting October 30th.
Luigi’s Mansion first came out with the GameCube in November 2001. The game follows Luigi, Mario’s often-timid brother, as he investigates a haunted mansion he surprisingly won in a contest. Equipped with a special vacuum cleaner called the Poltergust 3000 and aided by Professor E. Gadd, Luigi has to explore the mansion and capture all the ghosts inside.
Luigi’s Mansion is the latest addition to the GameCube games available through Nintendo Switch Online. The service originally launched with three titles – The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, F-Zero GX, and SoulCalibur II – and has since added Super Mario Strikers and Chibi-Robo over the summer, with Luigi’s Mansion being the sixth game added to the collection.
Nintendo plans to add more GameCube games to its online service. They’ve announced that popular titles like Super Mario Sunshine, Pokemon Colosseum, and Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance will be available eventually, but the exact release dates haven’t been announced yet.
A collection of GameCube games is just one of the benefits coming to Switch 2 for those with a Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership. Members will also get free access to upgrade packs for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
A standard Nintendo Switch Online membership is $20 per year, and the Expansion Pack plan is $50 annually. For families, Nintendo offers a yearly plan for $80 that lets up to eight Nintendo Accounts use the service on different devices.
