Nintendo Really Wants You To Know Mario And Peach Are Just “Good Friends”

If you assumed there might be a romantic connection between Mario and Princess Peach, you may need to reconsider. According to a post on the Nintendo Today app, Mario and the ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom are simply good friends.

The Nintendo news application recently featured an article about Princess Peach. Unbeknownst to users, this article emphasized the removal of Mario as a romantic partner for Princess Peach, instead portraying them as close friends who always lend a helping hand to each other whenever possible.

Through the Nintendo Today app, it’s shared that Princess Peach and Mario maintain a strong friendship and are always ready to lend a hand whenever needed.

Is it possible that we’ve all been deceived by Nintendo? Could all those times Mario and Peach shared kisses throughout the years be insignificant? A post that sparked such discussion was recently removed due to the app’s daily updates, but users like KirPinkFury on X certainly noticed. This led to various reactions across social media platforms.

It’s not clear if Mario and Peach have had a romantic relationship based on direct evidence, but it’s worth considering that a close friend doesn’t repeatedly rescue the princess from castles and battle fierce enemies like Bowser, hinting at something more than friendship between them.

In Super Mario Odyssey, it appears that Mario pops the question to Peach at the end, suggesting he sees her as more than a friend. Yet, she declines his proposal, possibly because Bowser had recently abducted and attempted to coerce her into marriage. Clearly, Mario should have read the situation better; Peach needs time for herself after such an ordeal.

It’s hard to ignore the fact that it appears Mario and Peach are more than just friends. After all, there’s a video montage showing Peach giving Mario a kiss, which has been watched over 2.2 million times. If Peach were truly just Mario’s good friend, wouldn’t she be kissing him repeatedly throughout the years? That doesn’t seem like typical friend behavior, but I could be mistaken (or maybe my understanding of friendship needs to expand).

It appears that Mario and Peach might be following in the footsteps of Link and Zelda, as they seem to share a bond but haven’t been officially confirmed as a couple by Nintendo.
