Assassin’s Creed Shadows Claws of Awaji Expansion Launches In September

Ubisoft has unveiled a revised plan for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, setting September 16 as the release date for the Claws of Awaji add-on. This upcoming expansion will be complimentary to those who preordered the game, while those who missed the preorder period can still acquire it separately.

The expansion “Claws of Awaji” seems set to enrich the game significantly, introducing a fresh weapon skillset for Naoe to grasp, along with additional skills to master, equipment to collect, and new foes to face. In total, Ubisoft anticipates that this expansion will provide approximately 10 more hours of content in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

Additional changes coming up include the introduction of a New Game Plus mode, accessible starting from July 29th. Choosing this option will reset your storyline and objective advancement, but you’ll retain all the abilities, equipment, and knowledge rankings you’ve achieved so far, along with your Hideout progress. You won’t need to repeat tutorials during gameplay as you’ll be able to skip ahead to the conclusion of the prologue chapters.

The ceiling for player levels is rising from 60 to 80, and we’re also introducing new Mastery levels, Knowledge Skill ranks, and enhancements for all Hideout structures – including improvements for Heiji’s Forge. In September, you can expect several significant quality-of-life improvements as part of an update. Before the Claws of Awaji expansion is released, these changes will be implemented. Here’s a sneak peek at what’s coming up:

In this version, I tried to make the sentence structure more conversational and easier to understand for the average reader while still conveying the same information.

  • Once you synchronise all viewpoints in a region, the fog will completely lift
  • The ability to skip time-of-day, jumping ahead to dusk or dawn
  • A new Forge upgrade level to reach Mythic–from Epic–and Artifact–from Legendary–equipment rarities
  • Hideout updates and upgrades.
  • Uncapped framerate for cutscenes on PC
  • Additional “goodies” that might be familiar to long-time series fans
  • Further bug fixes and stability improvements

In other updates, Ubisoft revealed that Assassin’s Creed Shadows has surpassed 5 million players, hinting at potential future releases on additional platforms. According to Ubisoft, the game’s performance has been as expected so far. Excitingly, a live-action Netflix series based on the franchise, initially announced five years ago, is now under development.
