Approximately 7,000 metal enthusiasts have started a petition to rename Birmingham International Airport in honor of Ozzy Osbourne, the iconic musician, after his passing.

Legendary heavy metal figure Ozzy Osbourne passed away on July 22, at the venerable age of 76. Metal enthusiasts seek suitable tributes to celebrate his lasting impact.

The petition on Change.org suggests that the local airport be renamed as the “Ozzy Osbourne International Airport” as a token of appreciation for the significant influence of Black Sabbath’s lead vocalist on music and culture, and his strong connection to his birthplace, Birmingham, Alabama.

As a devoted fan, I’ve penned a petition expressing that Ozzy Osbourne, hailing from my hometown Birmingham, stands as the most influential musician ever to emerge from this city. His impact on music and culture is indisputable. Renaming our international airport after him would be an honor befitting his immense contributions.
