Wendy’s drops goth ‘Meal of Misfortune’ & $10K mobile game for Wednesday Season 2

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled about Wendy’s latest venture! They’re diving deep into the mysterious world of the gothic subculture with their fresh, goth-inspired meal and mobile game. This chilling creation is set to launch in sync with the premiere of Wednesday on Netflix – can’t wait to dive in and be part of this spooky adventure!

From August 4, a special Meal of Misfortune will be introduced by the fast food chain, inspired by Wednesday Addams herself. It features spicy sauces, unique packaging, and an interactive digital escape game offering a grand prize of $10,000.

The meal consists of: Ten-piece Crispy Nuggets, Dark and Crunchy French Fries, Midnight-hued Frosty, Mysterious Dips (spicy sauces selected at random per order), and the Pessimistic Spoon.

These sauces, named intriguingly as “This Will Sting” and “Grave Mistake”, cater to Generation Z’s fascination with intense spiciness. However, here’s the catch: you don’t get to choose which ones you’ll receive. Instead, each meal comes with two mystery sauces, identified solely by question marks.

The packaging maintains consistency with Wednesday’s unique style, showcasing the Nevermore Academy outline and the slogan: “This Meal Has No Happiness.

Wendy’s Wednesday collab includes a mobile game with $10K prize

The partnership additionally incorporates the Wendy’s mobile application, featuring a fresh mini-game titled “Escape from Wednesday’s Woe”. In this game, players assume control of Wendy as she maneuvers through eerie obstacles, collects in-app prizes, and stands a chance to win a massive $10,000 jackpot.

A prize of $10K is larger than what’s typically offered in esports tournaments, making it intriguing to observe whether any competitive gamers decide to participate.

In a recent statement, Wednesday Addams typically disapproves of such corporate capitalistic mergers. However, when the rebellious fast-food mogul with pig tails suggested I could act freely with her clientele, I found it hard to resist.

This new promotion surpasses Burger King’s Purple Whopper from their collaboration with the Addams Family in terms of strangeness, as Wendy’s might have taken it to a whole new level.

Wednesday season 2 kicks off on August 6 on Netflix.
